canes football program

Go back and watch the way Shammon coached the bois up against Virginia in the last game at the OB; and don't ever come back and ask such a dumb question again.

I thought Shannon lost the team, he had to go. It wasn't going to get better. I think Al is close to , or at, where Shannon was. His team tanked last year, he should've been let go. The players are "taking it upon themselves" for accountability, etc. Great. Still doesn't compensate for inept coaching and mismanagement by the administration. It's a push.

Randy was unqualified at the time to be an HC,most likely never will be at that level. Al is in the same boat
great with under achieving type programs Temple most likely an NFL LB coach at best.
we need a complete overhaul starting at the AD level& BOT must really decide do we want to contend for titles or
are we happy cashing checks Adidas ,ACC etc. how far have we fallen Cincinnati is regarded as a "tough"contest
BOT is scared to death of Butch and what he would bring to program.... winning at a high level potentially a play off spot
so they harp on NC issues,so they won't have to make a "tough" call
only thing Donna ever did right was not fire Al last year and let new President review the entire 10+year mess
and start anew with a whole new group

donna was a scumbag. she basically forced butch out so she can bring in barry alvarez and she blindslided golden. that is
why he is still here. she knows what she did.

The fact that no other team even sniffed Shannon for their HC opening should tell you how wrong you are.

And once Folden is fired, the next big gig he'll attain is defensive backs coach and history teacher at some garbage high school in Jersey.

Shannon was an awful awful hire, but a much better coach than Golden.

Dude, we get blown out like that (almost) on a regular basis now. Teams like Pitt, Virginia and even Duke beat our ***.

From what I know most of the team loved him, it just became a country club atmosphere. They didn't work hard.

Our team now, works hard but they don't like their coach.

Golden I believe is a poor fit here, but could have success other places. Shannon is not Head Coach material IMO.

LOL, based on what? His success here? At Temple? I'd love for you to articulate a legitimate reason or argument why you think that.

Winning will bring back the fans.. Who wouldn't want to Coach at the U? With the Top talent right in your backyard that should be the real attraction for any coach, not how many fans come to the game... Miami is not a college town and when we play a Cincy or Pitt we'll never fill the stadium even if the team were ranked #1 in the polls...

If The U you could find a Coach that appreciates the talent and plays the type of football that these kids want to play (not this bend but don't break crap) we could be back on top real quick... There's some real talent on the team and with the right coaching we could contend for the ACC Coastal right away....

The sad thing is, even if Golden finally gets fired this year, I don't think this school will hire anyone who can do much better. We know they won't spend the money necessary to get even a good up and coming coach....and the problems with the program in general (Like no stadium anywhere near campus, no real support from the community, inferior or small facilities, etc.} make the job unattractive to some. They will probably just turn the team over to James Foley with a small raise. This despite the fact that a coach like Butch Davis or Mike Leach would come here in a heartbeat and for less money than most. Unfortunately those two are "tainted" by scandals that happened at other schools and the BOT won't touch them.

It's just a pathetic mess and I don't see an end to it anytime soon.

In 2010, the team quit before they took the field that day against FSU. It was a disgrace.

Randy had to go. His players quit on him just like Al's. However, Al only appeared an improvement -- he had a plan and Randy did not. Unfortunately Al's plan sucked so there has been no difference.

Al's players quit on him in 2013 vs. VT

this will be 2+ seasons with a lame duck HC

Disagree - for off field reasons. Randy hated dealing with the media, and interviews with him were rarely smooth.

If Randy had been coach when the allegations hit, and implicated coaches were still on staff (Stoutland, Pannunzio), the PR trainwreck would have been a disaster.

When Pyrite does come out of hiding to do an interview its with that fluffer Verman. He talks in circles and just goes down the list of names on the roster to eat up time. Pyrite is a con man.
