Canes fans in the Orlando area

I’m actually considering a move to the Orlando area for a job I’m going for. Can you elaborate why you didn’t like it there?

Orlando is great don't listen to those grumpy farts.

I have been here for 2 decades an love it. It's a cultural melting pot with very **** women of all sizes. There are ton of festivals, events, etc. An within a 2 hour driving radius you have some of the best beaches in the world.

There's tons of activities to do both inside and outside you just gotta bring your money. There something here for everyone whether your single, have a family, or anything in between.

Also if your single make sure your car game is tight, because having a nice vehicle (truck or car) in Orlando matters.

Just an overrated town...Spent 20yrs there, left last yr....the last 15+ yrs, things started going downhill (Crime...Infrastructure etc...)

Infrastructure? They're completing a 2.3 billion dollar highway project next year lol. The county is investing 1/10th of the tax to infrastructure and public transportation improvements. Infrastructure has never been better. You didn't like it because the Knights are the hometown team now, admit it!!

Orlando's infrastructure is a mess...and has been for many yrs....the I-4 debacle is 2yrs overbudget with 6 deaths (lawsuits to follow)

Dude. I moved from Coral Gables to Orlando back in 2004. This place has everything I’m looking for. A variety of restaurants, an hour drive to the beach, tons of entertainment. Plenty of geek themed bars. Venues for touring shows and sporting events. Also, road tripping out of state is way easier than when living in Miami.
People in Orlando complain about traffic but they dont remember the Palmetto or US-1 during rush hour.

I-4 is a wooden rollercoaster without a track. Be sure to update your will before going anywhere near that blender.

I live in Broward but I was in Orlando last weekend because my gf gets her hair done there and we’ll just make a weekend out of it every 7 weeks or so. Anyway, her appointment was just after Miami GT kicked off so she dropped me off early at Gator Dockside in Baldwin park. Had a really strange experience. I sat at the bar, maybe 5 other ppl in the establishment at this point and one of the main bar TVs had on pitt/duke so I asked the bar tender to change it to Miami GT and she said oh you have to look at the helmets on the bottom of the screen to see what games will be on. The helmets were nfl teams, I said well those are pro helmets….can I speak to a manager I’m not trying to be difficult but it’s really odd that a sports bar won’t change a tv for a customer. So the manager comes ans says he can put it on a corner tv. I said well I’m by myself so I rather not sit at a table. I told him no one is Gonna want to watch pitt duke anyway and he goes well I can say the same about the canes as they aren’t very good this year. I almost bust out laughing for a couple reasons. Instead I told him well you realize the difference is that I’m here now requesting that game and there is no one requesting the pitt game ???? He changed it after some back and forth. But was a really odd interaction. Anyway rant over.

I missed this post before, but that bartender was just being an *******. Pure and simple. Now it’s no reason to get into a ruckus about it, something I might have done when I was a little bit more rambunctious, but that was totally arbitrary.

If they had some rule in place, well then maybe he could argue that, but nobody else gave a shlt about duke/pitt, especially in Orlando, so he just wanted to fūck with you.

That’s the kind of thing where now that I’m not as impulsive and I’m supposedly a mature adult, I let it slide, but I def would’ve gone back-and-forth with him in a polite way as well. Inside I would’ve probably been boiling.

Rest assured this is the type of person that will never be successful, especially if he’s in a customer oriented business. I can tell just from your description of the interaction that he has no customer service skills. You’re not the first or the last person he has fūcked with, I promise you that. He’ll be a failure if he isn’t already.

No. I moved to this area so it would be more convenient for work but I'm tired of it already. I'm going back to the Northwest suburbs west Longwood close to Wekiwa/Sabal Point/Sweetwater Oaks area. That's home

Yup you nailed it on the head. They both were giving me a hard time for no reason. I would have def handled it differently in my undergrad years, especially since I approached the whole thing in a respectful and non confrontational tone and was still getting BS answers. I genuinely wonder how some people just go about life being miserable everyday. Must be horrible.
