Canes are Underdogs

Not a bettor but I’m fine with the current line and any swing it has over the course of the next couple of months. I’d a rather we come into Camping World with a massive chip on our shoulders rather than completely overconfident as we did last year versus LSU. If I was Manny I replay that game; show all the sloppiness, lack of focus, and inability to be physical. Then show them the plan and keys for winning against a different SEC school in yet another season opening affair - this time against the hated Gayturd. I simply do not believe Manolo will have any worries about getting the team’s attention but I want them to fully realize the potential in their hands come 8/24. The potential of starting 1-0 versus a Top 10 ranked opponent. A W against a bitter, hated rival. And the ability to erase the memories of last year’s game coupled with the chance to do something special in 2019. Make no bones about it WHEN we beat the Gayturd, we will vault in the Top 15-20 in the polls, and then I just don’t see more than 1-2 losses at best for the year. That should be good enough to win the Coastal and play Clemson in the ACCCG. Be competitive in that game, and recruiting will take care of the rest for us. Yes, this game is THAT important of an opening game for us. The Gayturd get to play inflated ranked SEC schools to get their ranking back up; unless a surprise team gets ranked we don’t. Everything is pointing towards this game as a much bigger affair for us than the Gayturd. It’s incumbent on Diaz and Co. to have the kids prepared to execute an imaginative game plan on offense with the defense playing as aggressive as they have the past few seasons. We do that, this game is ours, and so will begin a glorious ride into the 2019 season.

I"m the most die hard cane fan there is but i"m also a realistic fan. Disrespect?, man we are coming off a 7-6 year! we got our assess kicked by pretty much every P5 team we played last year and with no established QB yet. 7.5 points sound pretty realistic too me especially after the season Florida had including beating LSU and Michigan. cmom?
Spot on and totally agree!

FSU is a favorite over us. That’s disrespect

I understand where your coming from, but we were larger favorites against F$U last year than in a looong time...and we **** near **** the bed.

This team, sadly, including a rivalry game in F$U which "should" be close most years, plays down quite often to competition they outclass and should beat down.

Factor in new coaching, a new offense, etc...we will have to earn the excitement from the media that our biased fanbase feels..

I agree but we’re talking about Willie Taggarts FSU and that’s worse than losing to Duke

Hopefully that 7.5 sticks. TD & a hook with our D in a rivalry game is just too much.

Not sure about that, should be a close game, but how much better did Trevor Lawrence get in the off-season? Game is at Clemson as well.

The line is what it is for a reason....there will be action on Clemson -15 as well. Betting against Clemson these days should always give you heartburn. But Clemson is replacing a lot on defense, and their OOC record early in the year under Dabo is not intimidating. They've won most of the games they've played, but they're not demolishing people. I think, that early in the year, the game will be close.

Not a Clemson fan at all, and would love to see them go down, which I doubt happens soon. With that said they didn't win most of their games, they won all of their games, and they did their fair share of demolishing people. Would love to see us get to this level, and soon.

Clemson 63 Wake 3
Clemson 41 NCSU 7
Clemson 59 FSU 10
Clemson 77 L'vile 16
Clemson 56 SCAR 35
Clemson 42 Pitt 10 . ACCCG
Clemson 30 ND 3 . Playoff
Clemson 44 Bama 16 . NCCG

I said their early season OOC games.

2018 -- at A&M, won by 2
2017 -- Auburn, won by 8
2016 -- at Auburn, won by 6
2015 -- Notre Dame, won by 2
2014 -- at UGA, lost by 24
2013 -- UGA, won by 3

Yes, I'm aware they're FAR better at the QB spot than they've been except for probably Watson's last season. But my point is, early in the year, they don't have a history of crushing P5 OOC teams. I'll be all over A&M +15, and I'd be shocked if that line is actually that high by kickoff.

Better QB situation:

Blackman | Hornibrook

or

Martell | Perry | Williams
