Game is 5 months away, and these lines have VERY low limits. It's just a best guess right now.

What did the Miami vs FSU game close at last year? Miami -15? You think that was the line last May? Not even close. These will be adjusted as the season gets rolling. And if you're really confident that Miami will cover the +1, you can go to Vegas and probably plop down a whole $100 on it right now.

No one compared pitt to LSU whatsoever, you said we got our *** kicked by pretty much every power 5 school we played is also not factual and beating the coastal champs last year proved that. It was definitely a weird season last year all together

And speaking of the Pitt game.....Miami won that game 24-3, basically at no point did I feel remotely threatened about losing the game, and Miami's QBs averaged 2.2 (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) yards per attempt. And people on this site wanna argue with me that the defense won't be better this season.

How can you possibly be better than completely controlling a football game where your QBs get 2.2 yards every time they drop back?

In that game, Pitt ran 62 plays for 200 yards of offense. That's 3.23 yards per play. Miami had FOURTEEN tackles for loss (for comparison's sake, they also had 14 against Savannah State), and Pitt went 1-15 on 3rd down. You literally can't dominate a team more than that. But yeah, make sure you guys think the defense will be better this season, because that's a realistic way to feel.

Impressive performance of that defense for sure and a fitting end for that terrible season that laminated Miami’s REAL problem from the 2018 season which was how trash our O was. With that being said still not going to write this new defense off based on losing a couple of guys who were great fits for our defense. I’m excited to see how their respective replacements fare honestly

I hope you’re right about our Defense. They are going to have to play at a high level to beat Florida. If we can create some turnovers, I like our chances.

Nobody should remotely write them off at all. But 4th in total defense, 3rd in YPP, 1st in TFL, 9th in sacks, 1st in Opp 3rd down %.....I just can't see how you can say the defense will be better with a straight face. How much better can it be? You expect to be #1 in the country in every stat with a +20 turnover margin?

If anything, our defense has shown in the last 3 years regardless who is in guys will be productive and play well within the defense. Every year we have had guys emerge after not playing as much the season before and I dont Expect anything too different this year. Players come and go but the scheme doesn’t and it’s not like we got scrubs replacing these guys. Will they be better? Who knows let’s see what the season brings but I absolutely love the talent replacing those outgoing guys from the 2018 defense

that's a fan talking. historically FSU vs MIAMI always open with home team as a favorite the lines changes as the season progresses. plus noles vs games for the most part always play close games and vegas knows it

Wasn’t it 8.5 last month ? Already going down . Regardless , like others said not sure what yal were expecting , on paper we a 7-6 team that got blown out in a bowl game facing a 10-3 team that won a NY6

With that being said, we know what’s what about our team and what the real problem was last year . Unless you anticipate our offense and special teams again being ranked in the 90s and 100s , I’m not so sure why last year keeps getting brought up . Even with how bad we’re on offense we didn’t get blown out except against Wisconsin . **** UF had the same amount of double digit losses we did .
 
I think the earliest projections had the Gaytor at -8.5. Not really sure why anybody thinks 7. 5 is some kind of insult. Based solely on last year's results, Florida should be favored by a lot more. The new offensive staff is the wild card so while you can't be sure Miami will be better, you have to assume they'll be at least slightly improved on offense.
 
We lost to every single team with a pulse that we played, unless y'all really wanna count the 7-7 Pitt Panthers as a real team (who lost 51-6 to Penn State, 45-14 to UCF, and 42-10 to Clemson, by the way).

Other that that, we beat Toledo, FIU, Savannah State, UNC (no bowl), FSU (no bowl), and VT (had to reschedule a game to get bowl eligible, went 6-6, and lost to Old Dominion).

Miami, as a collective football team, sucked last year. Sure, we're fans...we think we're gonna beat UF. I actually honestly do, simply because I feel Miami can't be worse and UF was not as good as people make it out to be last year...but you think that goes into the Vegas number at all?

Yes, a consensus Top 10 team should be a TD favorite on a neutral field over a team who scored 6 points against UVA in 97% of a football game and lost at home to Duke.

Quit dissecting the line, it is what it is. Hopefully the kids use it as motivation, which I'm sure they are.
 
Never bet on my Canes but 100% take us and the points. 1. We don’t lose to FL 2. Our games are always close 3. See 1
 
if we smashed Michigan in a NY6 game and FL lost to wisky by getting dryhumped for 4 quarters we'd all be betting our net worth on the Canes

I have no idea what you are referring to as an insult. Our program has been in the weeds for almost 1 1/2 years and except for ND we cannot win a big game at all. Could be that the present staff will change that but being -7.5 points as an underdog is far from an insult. FYI, across the USA the U is no longer respected like the teams in the 80's, 90's, and early 2000's. We are just at best an average team over the past 15 years.
