Canes announce Stroud as DL coach after Simpson's departure

Solid resume.

I like that he has an impressive S&C background. He’ll know exactly how his DL should look and move.

We were far more disciplined and better against the run under Simpson than Kul. I hope Stroud brings some of that.

Seriously. If it was known Simpson was leaving in January and this is the best we. could come up with, I see red flags

Dude seems like a jack of all, master of none.

And last year you melted down over Kool leaving and said the same thing.

Seems like it worked out

I'm not sure I've ever seen a resume that has "Head Coach" at one spot immediately followed by "Head Strength & Conditioning Coach" at the next spot.

Not a criticism but definitely unique.

Jess Simpson did us a solid by recruiting till the end. Sucks to see him go but he was a Richt guy

Sucks that Simpson is leaving but I can't blame him for taking the same job, in his home state, and for more money in the NFL.

I'm going to watch some film on Akon's DL because Akron's run-defense numbers look terrible.

It does seem strange that for all the hype, yelling and screaming how great a Hurricane fan Manny was and is even though he is a nole, it does seem his default hire seems to always be someone with feathers and horse hair all up in em. For all the Manny faithful out there, who many noles of our frigging staff is too many? Aren’t they the same team we made cry so, so, so many times? Why the heck would anyone want so many noles when they are probably the greatest chokers of all time?

Anyone who thinks that the Stroud announcement back in early January wasn't premeditated for this exact situation is foolish. Simpson was gone after the dust settled from the NFL season and the Falcons made coaching changes. Simpson had a stacked DLine for his one year tenure with us, so how good was he really? Outside of recruits liking him but not committing to him. Stroud is a good fit for the time being. Let the old man get some games under his belt and then thank god we aren't in FSU's position rn.

Heck, it looks like Manny is setting up a FSU retirement home in CG. Some who loves to check on things, please find out if we will have more FSU grads on our side of the field than they do when we play them this year.

Lol do you know many is a richt guy too lol

I meant he probably left because Richt left when I said he was a Richt guy. I doubt Simpson got pushed out. Manny was a Richt Hire but unlike Jess Simpson, Manny had Experience in College at his position and wasn't as much of a gamble. I have nothing but faith in Manny as a head coach but wont bash him his first year if the Offense continues to be the problem
