I guess you can look at it this way. I look at it as a MASSIVE COMPLEMENT to D’Eriq King..... and the staff that brought him in

Look at the QB room now. The only one I feel > 90% confident will be here next year is TVD. King could declare, Kosi, Tate and Matocha are all possible transfer candidates (and depth QB's at best), and we have zero QB's committed for 21. If you run through the possible scenarios in the off-season there are a couple that are downright terrifying in terms of depth, let alone talent and experience.

Better question to ask is probably "What will our season look like next year if King doesn't come back?".

I think the point is to help people understand where we are as a program. King isn't going to be here long.

You can say that, but it's not true. Maybe some people have that point. Others don't. Equally likely, some people, perhaps yourself included, just interpret it that way, whether it's the intent or not.

This is a discussion board and people should be able to have these discussions without the typical superfan reaction against any concern or criticism. It's a fact that we're improved significantly because of a senior transfer QB and senior transfer K. It's nice to see, but if you want to understand where we are as a program and how much of this (combined with some close games) is a foundation or just good fortune, you have to be willing to ask the question you don't want to hear about.

Anyone who says that is a joke. I heard someone once say that and I say "Yeah, could you imagine if there was no University of Miami in Miami to have a football team name Miami hurricanes?" That's how your stupid comment sound.

I don’t say imagine if we didn’t have him. I say what happens next year when we don’t have him
 
It is a dumb line of thought. If we didn’t have King, we’d have another Qb that’s playing somewhere else so who knows what it’d look like.

we do have King tho, hopefully for another year.

We’ll likely find out next year, and I think we will see a significant regression if he leaves. It’s a fair question to ask because it’s staring us in the face and we don’t have a great answer.

The discussions can be had, we can ask about our QB depth behind King and is a fair discussion.
But to start with the assumption that without him we be winless is just an agenda driven premise.
Recruiting is a big part of college football and the building of a program.
Our coaches recruited King so why discount his contribution to the program.
