Calvin anderson is a stud grad transfer left tackle from rice. He is a 3 year starter and is probably the best player on rice.

He is 6-5 300 pound redshirt senior who could COMPLETELY change our o line problems.

He would immediately start at left tackle which would allow tyree to stay on the right side and would make our o line much more deep.

With him our o line depth would look like this:

LT - Calvin Anderson - Kai Leon Herbert
LG - Navaughn Donalson - Delone Scaife
C - Alex Gauthier - Corey Gaynor
RG - Venzel Boulware - Cleveland Reed
RT Tyree St Louis - Zhalonte Hillery

This would change our o line from good to great.

This is probably a pipe dream but if I was richt I would go all out for him.

NOTIFY COACHES!!!

GO CANES!!!

Best player on Rice isn't saying much.

Seems like this kid is good, but also seems like he'll probably go to Texas. He can start there from Day 1 and he's a Texas native

He is a stud and he can start day 1 here also. He will probably go to texas though

I assume he is leaving Rice to get more exposure for the draft. Since nobody plays defense there, wouldn’t staying in Texas fail to do that? I don’t follow draft much. How many oline men get drafted from that conference? Come here and kid will get tape of him playing future nfl defensive line players.

It is going to be hard to pry him out of the Lonestar state (or even one of the Oklahoma schools).

i worked at rice in the athletic department for 2 years. "best player at rice" is really not the accolade that you're hyping it up to be. those kids actually use their athletic scholarships as a means to earn a great degree. my guess is that he's leaving because bailiff (great guy, mediocre coach) was finally let go.

Did they have a legit dwarf playing for them not too long ago? I'm not talking Sam Bruce or Nick Saban short either but a kid that was like 4 feet and something tall.

yes, but that was one of those rudy-esque situations (he was a walk-on with 2 career carries). he's 4'9" and actually a very nice, humble young man.

I'd rather see what our blue chip OL prospects can do and gain experience than take a stopgap guy from Rice. We know what the ceiling is with this transfer, I'd rather gamble on one of our own
