Please not another THREAD about can we afford to keep Golden.

Let's have this discussion after he wins something a little more meaningful.

He isn't going anywhere he seems to really love UM. I know its kind of unheard of in this day and age but he might really be a lifer here. He'll never leave us for another college job and there is a very very good chance he'd never leave for the NFL either.

he is in a great spot as far as ability to play for a MNC here at Miami. I doubt he would go to another college

Money talks. If he has a chance to make twice the money somewhere else he'd have to listen.

LMAO .... Some of you fans wow... You get mad at omar kelly for saying he will get an extension but you wonder can we keep him.... Why wouldnt we have the money to keep him and why would he leave.... Sky isnt fallin chicken little ....

We can definitely afford to pay him 3.5 million/+ and will.

People forget but Coker was one of the best paid coaches in CFB before he got fired. We aren't dirt poor like some people try to make us out to be.

When's the last time UM lost a HC to another college? Contrary to popular belief, UM pays HCs very competitive salaries, and UM is not poor. The Don won't leave here because of money just like no one else has.

Don't worry about him as long as Jack Del Rio wants HC job at USC.

The more we win, the more those seats start filling up, the more that $ starts coming in, the more we start paying coaches.

I will write his own check from some NFL team because of the success he will have here and he will succeed like Jimmy at the next level. he will not have to take any job, also, think Pete Carroll.

Golden doesn't wear it on his sleeve, but he is a religious man. He believes he is called to the U to prove himself. Roll ur eyes or not....he aint leaving before his mission is completed. I use the word mission in both secular and religious senses.

The whole Miami doesn't pay coaches well BS started when Randy was hired by some idiots who couldn't comprehend that Miami was also paying Larry Coker while paying Randy. When Coker got his contract extension he was the highest paid HC in America. Yes, Miami will pay to keep Golden.

I think Golden truly wants to be at Miami for a long time. When he says this his destination job it's not lip service. He and family love South FL. He's at a school that has talent all around him and he has ties up north so he can cherry pick all the talent he will ever need to have a championship caliber team at all times. He can go down as a legend at Miami. If he was going to leave he would've done it when Nevingate broke.

Can we afford NOT to keep him? Winning at Miami is not as easy as some think. Golden, clearly has this program moving quickly in the right direction. Right at this moment, I wouldn't trade him for anyone. We got a diamond in the rough, who's starting to glitter a little.

I'm driving the bandwagon.
