We were ranked 10th yesterday, and then we flipped a recruit today and dropped to 11th
You know other teams get commits too? And sometimes those commits are ranked higher than a composite top 600 3*.
They got a 3 star commitment too today. Again, their class avg. is still lower with 4 less commitments than the canes’.You know other teams get commits too? And sometimes those commits are ranked higher than a composite top 600 3*.
Michigan flipped a low 3* LB from USF with an 86 rating and we just flipped a recruit with an 88 rating, higher than them and yet somehow they went ahead of us and we have the higher recruit average and have more recruits. They are using some magic math over there. We were ranked 10th yesterday, and then we flipped a recruit today and dropped to 11th
So what’s the point of showing the average rating of the recruiting class?? Does that mean if a team has four 5 stars and 20 2 stars they’ll be rated higher than the Canes?? Even if their class rating is dragged down by the 2 stars and their class rating is lower? We do this every single year… the reason Michigan has a higher class total even though their average is slightly lower and they have less commits, they have more highly rated guys than us at the top than we do. Having two 5 stars alone probably does that.
5 stars / top 100 etc carry more weight because to a certain degree they typically impact a team more.So what’s the point of showing the average rating of the recruiting class?? Does that mean if a team has four 5 stars and 20 2 stars they’ll be rated higher than the Canes?? Even if their class rating is dragged down by the 2 stars and their class rating is lower?
None of this matters in the big picture, it’s just not mathing to me.
There is a formula and it 100% maths. The average is another way of looking at the ranking, like anything they want to show multiple layers of it. That all said, their formula adds bonuses for tier of recruits. You get the largest bonuses for 5 stars, then top 100 guys and so forth. So what’s the point of showing the average rating of the recruiting class?? Does that mean if a team has four 5 stars and 20 2 stars they’ll be rated higher than the Canes?? Even if their class rating is dragged down by the 2 stars and their class rating is lower?
