New #LSU Head Coach Brian Kelly has very interesting clauses in his deal. If he wins a title, firing him would cause an automatic payout of 100% of his remaining salary (LSU has fired Les Miles and Ed Orgeron after winning titles). He gets 90% of it the remaining balance if he’s fired without cause.

His base salary is 10 years/$95M

BONUSES INCLUDE:

75K for the SEC Championship Game OR
$150K for winning it

$500K “Longevity bonus” annually

$500K for being bowl eligible +
$100K for a NY6 Bowl appearance OR
$200K for a Playoff appearance OR
$300K for a National Title appearance OR
$500K for winning it all

$50K for SEC Coach of the year +
$75K for National Coach of the Year

Additional academic achievement bonuses of $25K each

He owes $2M to LSU if he leaves voluntarily

Kelly also receives:
-Two courtesy vehicles and two vehicle allowances of $1,000 a month

-Interest free home loan of 20% of the home price up to $1.2M

-50 hours per year of private jet time on LSU’s jets

SO...

If you are Kelly...

You win the Natty Y1, immediately after award ceremony, you start drooling on yourself and trying to touch people in tje crowd with your pee-pee.

Get fired, collect $85MM+.

The man is a Sith Lord.

You say that now but with UT and OU coming in one of these SEC powerhouses will have a bad year each year.

Shoot half the conference believes they should be in the playoffs every year and they spend the money to do it.
If the playoffs goes to 8-12 teams, most years they’ll be 3-4 SEC teams. Maybe more

Give me a dude named Pete Carroll.
Yes, I said Pete Carroll.
Don’t be surprised when this name surfaces and he ends up in Miami.
You heard it hear first.
Now let the negs neg.
Ive heard this as well. How old is he? Would he entertain going back to college?

Mike Tomlin a possibility?

He’s 70. Dude is closer to retiring than hitting the recruiting trail. Tomlin is tanking a bit. Think he’s 6-10-1 after starting 11-0 last year.

We can offer snacks.

He's a hard ***, a coaches coach. I understand though, constantly in the playoff hunt but, he losses A game a year at possibly the hardest place to coach.

Horrible football coach.
I agree that he’s a good coach. Not sure what you mean by coaches coach, but his assistants did not like him. Not guessing on that. That is why they are all staying in South Bend with Freeman. I also believe (but don’t have firsthand knowledge) that he was wearing thin with Swarbrick.

Signing long term deals now is fine. Cause the money is only going up. In five years franklins deal will look pedestrian. Provided he keeps winning

Brain Kelly has a better resume than Mario and faced a tougher schedule at ND as an independent than Mario did being in the PAC-12. I'd rather give Lane Kiffin 7Mill a year and 8-10Mill for his staff, with another 1.5 - 2Mill as his recruiting budget.

I’ll just say, LSU won a Nat’l title w/ an up & coming Saban, not the Demi-God we know today. They also won a Nat’l title w/ Miles (who can’t get a job now), and they won a Nat’l title w/ the shirtless wonder Ed O.

As far as established coaches hired by LSU, this is by far the best coach they’ve had. The academic standards at LSU r waaaay different than ND, and the caliber of athlete he’ll have access to is waaaay different than ND. This could be a sneaky good hire this off season. ND was an afterthought until he got there….just saying ya’ll.
