Can Anyone Beat Cam Ward? QB Breakdown with Chase Daniel

That first hitch on the first pass was to move that safety towards X and open the middle ofd the field. He was never gonna throw to the right side.
 
I could watch this **** all day long. We are so lucky to have this kid and people are realizing why there was such a push for him. I expected the world from this dude and he’s WAY better than I even could have imagined.

Completely in control of the offense, so incredibly smart, so incredibly talented. Some of these throws are like a wild, Wild West gunman. Straight from the hip, bulllet right to the face before you realized what happened. I really don’t understand how you shut this offense down. He’s too smart and good and the offense gives him too many options. No matter what you do, he’s gonna beat you.

One of my favorite parts of the video was when he talked about how he doesn’t know how X knew it was a CB blitz but he did

Some of the work the team had put in during the offseason was really apparent that’s when I knew we might have something special here

The best part of the comment to me was he didn’t even know who X was. It wasn’t like one of us fans looking for a way to prop our guys up. Just an NFL QB who has played around a ton of great WRs genuinely surprised how much a guy is seeing
 
I don’t think enough fans appreciate this. Watch the breakdown. Duke was actually playing extremely good defense. You can laugh at Diaz all you want but Duke DBs never got burned or busted a coverage. Everything was Ward reading the coverage and then having perfect ball placement. Duke frequently only gave him NFL windows and Ward would make a NFL throw. This is not a plug and play offense.

Against most college QBs, that Diaz defense would have been lights out. I am impressed he’s doing that with Duke caliber players. 6-2 is not a fluke. That is an exceptionally disciplined and well schemed defense that Cam surgically sliced up.
