Can a new coach resend a recent scholarship?

Let be real. We have 4-5 kids who signed early who frankly don’t deserve a scholarship here at Miami. We were grasping at straws near the end bc the ship was sinking.
Is it even possible for a brand new coach to come in and say thanks but no thanks and cut the kids free? It would be better for both parties. They won’t ever see the field here.
Name the 4-5 people or shut the **** up

I imagine so, but it is really, really bad form for a school to do. It would be a prime negative recruiting tool.

Actually, it’s something I would expect Saban to do.

I’ll give you a counter example. Years ago, there was a OL recruit at Texas who suffered a heart attack in his senior year in HS. He had a heart defect, and Mack Brown could have easily pulled the scholarship. Instead, Brown honored it and kept him at UT for four years. That sort of thing builds goodwill with players and HS coaches.

your talking mostly oline guys and in that case are wrong. the fact is the avg star rating for nfl starting oline is 2.4 stars what that shows is that smaller guys like nelson and oline is one area where a 2 star can end up as good or better then a 5 star it just is it happens all the time. they add good weight to 240 lb frame and in 3 yrs are stud oline guys so don't sleep on 2 star olinemen its one area recruit services are wrong alot

I could be wrong, but I believe the LOI is a legally binding contract. So not sure after signing by both parties if it can be rescinded.
Someone on here may be able to explain in further detail the legalities of LOI's for both parties.
I think u are right once its signed both school and player are bound to it for at least 1 yr school can have kid transfer or suggest it afterwards but once a kid signs a loi I think a school has to honor it although blue shirting **** like that makes it all a bit blurry to me

that'd go over real nice with future recruits.... the school that hasn't been at roster cap for 11 years pulling scholarships bc a new coach. that would REALLY make kids want to come here. /s

I'm still trying to figure out who the 4-5 kids that aren't talented enough for this U are.

Here's the list of newcomers in ascending order. I think he's referring to the OL we offered after Tarquin and Eguakin flipped out.

Nelson
El Gammal
Clark
Muñoz
Holley
Hodges
Hedley
Williams
Brooks
Couch
Huff
Smith
Blissett
Harvey
Payton
Osborn
Kennedy
Martin
Bolden
Martell

I think they can resend the email whereby they rescind the scholarship offer.

Ask Mark Emmert.

Been laughing at the thread title for a few mins now.

In all seriousness, you can rescind offers, but I am pretty sure they are on yearly basis so you could just say sorry we wont renew your scholarship.

They are one year contracts. You can cut the player loose after the year.

He's not referring to anything, he's trying to stir the pot. Please don't indulge him by pretending that he's got a point.
