Let be real. We have 4-5 kids who signed early who frankly don’t deserve a scholarship here at Miami. We were grasping at straws near the end bc the ship was sinking.
Is it even possible for a brand new coach to come in and say thanks but no thanks and cut the kids free? It would be better for both parties. They won’t ever see the field here.

I think they can resend the email whereby they rescind the scholarship offer.

Ask Mark Emmert.

Like who?

I could be wrong, but I believe the LOI is a legally binding contract. So not sure after signing by both parties if it can be rescinded.
Someone on here may be able to explain in further detail the legalities of LOI's for both parties.

Why don't you have your attorney tell them you aren't paying another penny to the program unless they dump those guys?

Your ability to evaluate who should or shouldn't get a scholarship is equal to the real amount you've given to the U all these years.

Zero.

Can rescind offers, but not the binding contract. Of course, some student athletes "may not qualify" and have to be terminated prior to admission. 🤭

We have a winner. No fing way can a school rescind a scholarship after a LOI is signed.

And even if it were permissible (it ain’t), what a dumbarse idea when you have to recruit future kids. You wannna be Rescind it U when negative recruiting time comes? The school you can’t trust?

I believe the Scholly can be pulled each year, so essentially they’re one year contracts.

That being said, Im not OK with pulling scholly of a kid who hasn’t lived up to expectations. If the kid is working and not ******** around, I’d try real hard to let them graduate. Those kids chose the U, they may not have another opportunity to get an education.

Plus I’d imagine recruits wouid hear about it and it wouid be a check in the negative column.

Absolutely correct sir.

I don't care if the guy underachieves on the field as long as he busts his *** every single day in practice and takes care of his business in class.

First if they signed no we can’t release them.
2nd and most importantly didn’t know were an elite school where we can say the kids we took are not Miami caliber? Last time I checked we’re irrelavant when it comes to playing for championships. Those 4-5 kids are coming with a chip to prove what they can do. The U was built with kids like this.
Finally name the 4-5 kids you are talking about. Thanks.

all of that money on tuition and high priced lawyers, and you can't differentiate between resend and rescind. GTFOH.

Like who is so bad we would go back on our word. I think they all have promise some might not be rated very high. That would look really bad for recruiting to me. Alot of kids would remember that. We are still rated in the low 40 or 30s in the nation. they cant be that bad

just sayjng
