Can a fix happen as it did at Michigan?

Manny's biggest problem is Manny, and he can't fix that.

You hear about what our practices look like, you see the lack of discipline, you see the lack of preparation, you see his defense confused a split second before the snap, you see all the fake swag, and most of all, you see the results. No new DC or OC or LB coach is going to change it.
Punishment for penalties vs FSU…. Offending players had to push a 45 pound weight across the IPF. That’s it.

Why does he not take away playtime, snaps or even series.. he wasn’t his players to like him so they don’t hit the portal.

Can’t ever win anything like this.

Jim Harbaugh has had a rough go at Michigan even though he came there with high expectations. His problem was quality assistant coaches so his brother helped him out sending him a quality defensive coach from the Ravens. Manny did rapidly switch OC's when Enos was so pathetic, he tried himself as DC and that failed but it could be a one year shot that could be remedied. Having Lashlee as OC and finding a top defensive coach just might be a solution rather then starting all over from scratch. I think a one year gamble would be worth saving the progress we've seen since the rapid switch of head coaches has not rendered any improvement. I like our offense, I like the players we have and our main problem for many years is not having a Hurricane style defense. All it would take is fresh blood at the helm of the defense to remedy and simply adding a DC is a lot less expensive and could be a rapid fix. Manny has ben good at solving problems, what if he fires him self and brings in an innovative DC. I also think we need a new SC coach, one that understands the athletic aspect of sports. Every team has muscle bound individuals but we need to improve the athletic ability not brute strength.
The gator fired their assistants that are failing them, maybe that would be a solution?

Harbaugh hasn’t really fixed anything except stabilizing Michigan after the failed Rodriguez and Hoke experiences.

Michigan has a ton of resources, money and one of the largest alumni bases in the country. They hardly ever leave the State of a Michigan for the first 5-6 games of the season and when they do they lose. They help the directional schools out and that’s it.

Harbaugh can’t recruit a QB or develop one which is supposed to be his fortay. Yes he’s gotten them 10 wins and some nice bowl wins but other than that he still is Ohio State bit*h

It’s over friend , you had a good run but its time to let go and find a new topic to troll with.

The one thing that Diaz lacks might be his biggest problem. Butch Davis was a commander, a man's man in charge and his assistants (except for Coker) were tough nuts who turned boys into men. Unfortunately this cannot be faked BUT one must give the sense that he is fully in charge and repercussions will happen if not observed. Bobby Bowden was the exception as he had different rules for different players, with Bowden Rooster would not have been suspended. Now with all the attacks on Manny he is limited and it is too late to assert his authority. The next two games will show if the team wants his back by how they exert themselves. If the love the man the effort will be obvious....if not....sigh!

Jimmy Johnson also had different rules for his star players, so there goes that theory.

Thank You. My reasoning is that Diaz has made adjustments, has been good at using the portal, has good recruiting talent, and did not hesitate to get Lashlee. The losses are all that are being observed and with good reason yet his ability to change and adapt is being ignored. Sure it has been painful yet I am optimistic that things can and will improve given time for him to adjust and become the coach we deserve. If he were idle through this transition then fire the bum. You would not fire an employee that is progressing, especially in a tough profession like college sports. He is not so consumed with himself that he cannot adapt ala Golden. The fanbase is now making it almost impossible for him to do the creative changes required. Firing is the simple solution and then we have another couple years of what if we had kept....or is it here we go again. How is it going for VT and NC when those hires were super? super bad! When Fuentes lost Beamer's DC he has collapsed, Mack has failed with a star QB...and we are not getting Cristobal So we add another coach to the failing cycle of the last 20 years...sad!
By the way, now pro teams are using a turnover chain. That's innovation!
Jesus Porst Christ....

I cannot recall any instance where JJ compromised, can you enlighten me!
He was quoted saying that if a star player does something stupid, and a nobody does the same thing, he will punish the nobody and let the star slide. I’m not going to find a link, but I’m sure others here can confirm this.

Harbaugh has the advantage of having played at Michigan, and for Bo.
If we got Mario he would probably get similar homecoming treatment as harbaugh has at Michigan.

FYI, Harbaugh was a creep. I was in high school in Ann Arbor when he was the starting QT at Michigan and this guy would show up at high school parties and hit on the girls. Completely ruined it for the rest of us.
He was 20 to 21 at the time. That's mildly creepy. Real creepy is him having do sleep overs with his potential croots.

OP, I was debating about posting in here….but after my 5th read, I said y not.

U do realize that Harbaugh has a proven track record, don’t u? I mean a proven track record even at the highest level.

When Diaz has that on his resume, then holla at us.

what makes you think Manny is capable of hiring a DC that won't run Manny's scheme??
Basically Blake Baker 2.0

Fraggle you're certainly intititled to your uniqueviewpoint. Too many times people today refuse to even listen to someone who doesn't totally agree with them. I have respect for anyone who has the courage and integrity to state their opinions even if it goes against the wind.

That being said, I disagree. Sure he's tried to solve his problems. At least he's aware some exist. I think he's tried upgrading his Assistants.

You present some good points.Of course any thing is possible. But Manny doesn't have Harbaugh's skills and capacity.

Suffice it to say it's hard being a problem solver when you're the problem. He has continued to believe that the defense that brought him success continues eventually to get him fired. Why he repeatedly does that to himself I don't have a clue.

He's done his best. It's simply beyond his capabilities.

Having great Assistants won't help if Manny has any input into their process.

If he shouldn't have input then what's the use of having him? The best analogy I can think of is it's like having a **** in the punchbowl.

No matter how much good punch he add, it just can't be fixed...you have to accept the fact that you're gonna have to throw it out. Then make sure you stop letting turds get in your punch.

That problem is just for starters..

No use mentioning the other 99 problems.

It's like beating a dead Manny.

Hopefully soon he'll be soon be taken behind the barn....we'll pat hs head, give him some sugar cubes..then the Administration will finally pull the trigger and we'll hear the shot and thud

Because it's dirt nap time
