Can’t Put Lipstick on a Pig and Think She’ll Win the Beauty Pageant.

I'm good with that with the exception that Mario can still evolve into a more open minded coach schematically once the foundation is done which could elevate us to an elite level but you can't build a skyscraper on wet sand
This year could be the wake up call. I‘m a glass half full type guy but I also know Mario‘s thinking lol. Hopefully he gets it.

I also believe he was on the verge of doing that at Oregon before we begged him to leave

I mean, idk. Like I just posted...we've gone 2-3 against Duke over the past five seasons. That is 3 head coaches, brother.

We just keep bringing in 4 and 5 stars and no matter the coach, they continue to under perform.

When are the players supposed to be held responsible for their play on the field? Was it Rhett Lashlee (who everyone thinks is good for some reason), Rob Likens fault our WRs couldn't catch a football then? Is it Josh Gattis' fault guys that the WRs in this program still can't catch footballs and it takes no name transfers to provide us with anything close to consistent play at the position (literally 3 out of the past 4 years a no name transfer comes in and is our best WR).

You can blame Mario all you want. As I said, I don't care. But if I gotta be the guy to chime in on every thread that the players also suck...I guess I gotta do what I gotta do. Maybe there is a reason no one actually wants to coach here except former players, guys that would never get a chance anywhere else, and guys that otherwise coach at Tatooine State in college football. The whole place stinks right now and has for 20 years...maybe that stink don't go away.
I've been with you about how these players suck and give 2 ***** about winning. This team has Kevin Steele and Charlie Strong running the defense, 2 guys that have had good successful coaching careers. I'm supposed to blame them for the piece of **** defense? They decided to come to Miami and be worthless?

I wasn‘t selling jack , I was the one arguing we could lose to anyone on the schedule if we didn’t play well and had major holes on the team. We couldn’t afford any injuries. I still think this is an 8-9 win team if healthy and had better schematic coaching. The coaching has been as bad or worse than the players. Btw Mario Mario wasnt talking rebuilds until the losses started.
Thank you! He did not say we were going undefeated but he made it seem like we had some guys that could play. The only concern he had was WR and LB. He said the OLINE was good, close to great. He said QB room and RB room was great (injuries, I know), safeties beasts, corners legit (another coach got fooled by Ivey again) and DL deep. Problem was, he did not foresee guys quitting on him because they don’t like the scheme. Guys tired of getting booed by their home fans when they call 💩 plays. When the play call come in and the players know it’s bad they already check out for that play. Then it piles up and they get booed they don’t even want to be there anymore. We need better play callers on both sides of the ball. True ax’s and Os guys. We paying top dollar for it now anyways!

This type of post is either pure laziness or it's made by someone who doesn't understand talent.

If you have guys who are 6'2" and can run fast, you guys and the recruiting services think they have "talent". But if that "talent" doesn't care, doesn't work hard, and doesn't really understand football, no head coach is winning games. And we have a whole lot of that kind of "talent".
Yet somehow they were able to beat Duke 47 - 10 last year. Did all of their talent disappear? If you don’t think Duke would trade rosters with us in a heartbeat you are delusional.

I think the culture is being severely underplayed. I‘m only saying it because I know Corey and Chris. Chris would tell me **** that blew my ******* mind about a lot of these guys. I talked to him Tuesday and he told me how UNC is a night to day difference. UNC! a bunch of ******* 3 stars care more about winning than these losers.
I would love to hear Corey Gaynor compare the cultures of Richt, Diaz, Cristobal and Mack Brown!

people just browse over this fact. duke got anew staff and they looked better coached w largely the same roster. we took largely the same roster and looked worse off right now.

Did our "talent" turn the ball over eight times last year? Or is a fumble now the result of poor coaching?

Progress often takes a step backward at first. But no one wants to hear this.

Mario needs a big talent advantage to make up for his deficiencies as a game day coach. We knew that coming in. Yes the roster and culture isn’t great but Mario can’t over come that with great coaching. He recruits very well and brings toughness. It’ll take him longer than say a great X O coach to fix this. Imo longterm it’ll be worth it when the roster is flipped but Mario isn’t the type to come in and jump start a team quickly with coaching. He’s a poor man’s Butch.
Agree and that's why he needs to surround himself with really competent assistants.

When Mario was hired I said I’ll take the toughness and recruiting knowing what he is as a game day coach. He’ll load this roster up , make the players mentally and physically tough. He’ll also win 9-11 games a year consistently when its up and running. Making a run at a playoff every 4-5 years. On the negative his offenses will be suspect at times and we’ll drop a head scratcher game 1-2 times a year. That’s the ceiling and accepted that coming in. Like I said “ I know what he is“.
Any hope to him having an eye opening moment and changing things around? I mean if this season doesnt do it .... If only he could focus on recruiting, o line, and hire competent coordinators and not get in their way.
