Cam Voting ends @ 1159 AM Central Time Fri losing to WV

Can somebody explain why it makes sense to choose kids for the game in this way? Shouldn't it be on the kids' merit as opposed to how many times I can vote?

Edit: voted 2 more times, 44.58% but still a silly way to do things.
