Calvin Russell- only top 75 player to choose a dumpster fire

1. I can guarantee you Miami wasn’t on him hard bc he also wanted to play basketball. A couple things wrong with that, he never got a basketball offer from UM, and if going pro in football was his goal, why tf would you try to play basketball and not fully commit to football and your craft. Mario and CO has every right to not tolerate that, either you fully committed and focus on football or u can kick rocks.

2. I saw an early spring practice video of him running a route, he was def injured.

F this kid. He aint a Cane. I hope Cuse stops payment on any NIL. Make jit sue. Cut him loose. Same goes for JRock Lopez. I dont want any injuries, but I aint gonna mourn for these guys who turned us down.

Why do people keep saying things that are incorrect?

Miami wanted Calvin Russell for football.

Additionally, Miami offered Calvin Russell in basketball.

The basketball offer was delayed and complicated by Larranaga's retirement and Lucas's hire.

Bottom line, Miami wanted Calvin Russell, just not with all the requests and assurances and demands that were made.

Basketball offer below:

As an aside, I love how Fran Brown finds a way to make Calvin's recovery all about him, further revealing himself as an egotistical dope.

Our culture... Our commitment... Our relationships. (And even there, you know it hurts Franny's soul to write "our" instead of "my".)

Is that what's going to get Calvin back on the field?

What about Calvin's work ethic? Calvin's drive to succeed and be the best? His competitive spirit?

Nah. Fran Brown's got you, baby!

Hey, don’t bug this guy , he doesn’t want to be here he’s got issues with a huge load in his diaper.
He’s a nurse bottle feeder , he’ll be there come portal time all WEENED and using a sippy cup for big boys until then not ready for the BIG SHOW.

Our team has worked so hard to breakaway from poopoo player’s.

We got an elite championship team that can win multiple NC’s , this child is where we were.

He’s excellent portal material especially when we ge our rings

Something is going on with these aau basketball kids. Even the nba seems to have an Achilles tendon issue.
I don’t recall that injury being so prevalent back in the day. I never saw them in high school at all, much less a receiver in college.
Too may people becoming specialized in a sport at too young of an age. Every sport causes some overuse injuries specific to what that sport demands physiologically. Pitchers tear their UCL tendon, tennis players have their injuries. Basketball is murder on the knees down to the feet. It is not so much the running as it is jumping and landing on a hard surface.

Back in the day kids played a sport based on the season and didn’t specialize until high school. Now they specialize at age 8 or even younger. Over time the body pays the price.

Every good basketball player I knew growing up played everyday — sometimes for 6 hours — from the age of 10 through high school. And when we weren’t playing basketball, we were playing football or baseball. I was one of them. Can’t remember anyone, in high school or college, tearing their Achilles. Lots and lots of torn ligaments in the ankles, but never the Achilles.

I can see your point. However, Europe has the soccer academies where these kids are playing since they’re six or seven years old and you don’t see these injuries in soccer at all.
Also, Basketball high tops back in the day barely had any cushioning in them. They were flat hard, rubber bottom soles with stiff leather uppers. They weighed a ton.
