Calvin Russell- only top 75 player to choose a dumpster fire

the fixation with this kid is weird, seems like we never really wanted him that bad.
This is 100% correct. We never wanted him that bad because if we’re being honest, he’s not that good. It’s all projection with him and I’ve said it from the start, basketball will keep getting in the way of those projections.

1. I can guarantee you Miami wasn’t on him hard bc he also wanted to play basketball. A couple things wrong with that, he never got a basketball offer from UM, and if going pro in football was his goal, why tf would you try to play basketball and not fully commit to football and your craft. Mario and CO has every right to not tolerate that, either you fully committed and focus on football or u can kick rocks.

2. I saw an early spring practice video of him running a route, he was def injured.

F this kid. He aint a Cane. I hope Cuse stops payment on any NIL. Make jit sue. Cut him loose. Same goes for JRock Lopez. I dont want any injuries, but I aint gonna mourn for these guys who turned us down.

Why do people keep saying things that are incorrect?

Miami wanted Calvin Russell for football.

Additionally, Miami offered Calvin Russell in basketball.

The basketball offer was delayed and complicated by Larranaga's retirement and Lucas's hire.

Bottom line, Miami wanted Calvin Russell, just not with all the requests and assurances and demands that were made.
