Calling For Coach Richt To Be Fired

I agree and if I had a choice I would def hire a new oc, I was just saying that Richt probably isn’t as bad as he seems as an oc but he’s also not as good as he thinks as an oc.

The problem is Richt is the HC and OC. So on just evaluating him as an OC...

Honestly, he is under no obligation to go with Rosier in year 3 or last year. He could have brought in someone a long time ago (recruit or transfer). This idea that he continues to go with someone that has obvious issues is a reflection of his coaching (whether it be from lack of coaching or a poor roster decision).

Then his choice to hire his son who shouldn't be a QB coach at any real school. Finally he hires NO ONE who can help him on offense.

I don't think an average OC would make these decisions. I think an average OC would get help and try to play someone who doesn't have these obvious flaws.

Even if Richt is an "average" OC, he has to be an HC too. Perhaps it is way too much for him to handle.

IMO he isn’t a bad oc but he also isn’t a good oc, he’s average calling plays. There’s only one of the issues that he can fix before the end of the season as far as coaching additions/changes and our qb situation and that’s benching Malik. Hopefully he has the balls to do it.

I don't think it takes balls, I think it is common sense to go with someone else.

You saying that would have been like Charlie Mansion telling someone they were acting weird. Look up the meaning of truth and projecting one's failings on others.

OP you remember this post when we get MURDERED by clemson later this year ok?

The CIS site is mostly (not all) a home for those who do nothing but complain and belittle. Reading many of the posts after the LSU game drove home the point that the haters, who claim to be UM fans, were giddy as they ravaged the football program from stem to stern.

After a UM loss, the number of posts appears to outnumber, by a wide margin, the posts after a UM win. That alone should tell you all you need to know.

It is clear that some are not in an earthly orbit when calling for the firings of Coach Richt and Coach Diaz. Our competitors have to be thrilled by our 'useful idiots' who are working overtime to destroy the program.

So, it is your contention that firing Mark Richt wouldn't even be a ripple on the pond. Coach Richt is an upper echelon coach that is exceedingly admired and respected throughout college football. He is here because of his love for his alma mater and is committed to rescuing the football program from oblivion. In other words; Richt would have never come to Miami if not for his connection to the school.

If you are right about how easy it would have been to have hired a 'name' replacement coach after Golden's termination please list those names who were seriously considering Miami.

Here's the thing, you will not be proven wrong simply because no one within the Miami administration or Board of Trustees would be insane enough to even whisper such a foolish and ridiculous thought.

Well, it didn't seem to hurt Georgia.

In fact - the opposite.

How many does Clemson play that they will not murder right now.

When you get 4 NFL caliber D line to return for senior year, you got it going on. Will not be long until Canes be beating Dabo.

Not trying to be argumentative, but yeah, I do in fact strongly disagree with you.

When you are building a business or football team continuity is a key factor for success. You are headed for failure if you are a musical chairs manager firing and hiring people on a whim or thinking that so and so might be better. Once you start this act your reputation spreads like wildfire and hiring truly 5-star coaches becomes almost an impossibility as they know they have zero security.

For every hour we or most all others on this site have invested in the study of college football Mark Richt has a thousand hours or more. As fans, we probably know 20% of what's really going on and the reasons behind various decisions. Yet, many CIS'ers believe that watching the games, learning various football jargon and reading various blogs make them experts and know significantly more than Mark Richt and the other UM coaches.

If these same people had an interest in space flight they would be lecturing the NASA brass as to how they've got it all wrong after watching a few launches and reading the book... Space Flight For Dummies.

Yes you do need continuity but you forget there's also expectations. When you are missing out on QB recruits, putting your defense in bad positions, offense non existent, special teams that is terrible, sub 6 defensive players, Oline not working out, LB's not doing their jobs and penalties, who is going to hold people accountable? We've been seeing the same mistakes the past 3 years. There is no continuity between coaches bc none of them are good at anything. Eventually they'll start pointing fingers and the head coach will lose the locker room. Continuity is when you're getting better and recruiting well and closing the talent gap. I know you're trying to be the positive person around here but a spade is a spade.

Do real Canes fans want an elite and championship football program again ? YES

Is Mark Richt a good person and a nice guy ? YES

Do Georgia football fans wish Mark Richt was still HC for the Dawgs ? NO

Has Mark Richt ever come close to winning a National Championship ? NO

Will Mark Richt ever win a National Championship as HC at Miami or anyplace else ? NO

Case Closed.

oh yeah? with what future O and D linemen will we be doing this with?

I believe all of our line backers behind our current starting group are 3 star players if I remember correct

so we gonna beat them with coaching ( lol )? Because the talent certainly isn't there, holla at me when you know

The man took a Miami program that was swirling around the toilet drain about to be flushed into oblivion and somehow, someway he led the Canes to their first ACC Coastal Division title EVER, notched a 10 win season despite major injuries to many of his top performers, and took the Canes to the Orange Bowl, the first Major Bowl appearance since January 1, 2004.

Then, belittling his resume is patently absurd. And all that other gobblygook you are blathering on about is as worthless as teats on a boar hog.

Look I get it...it makes you feel good to be *****ing about something, if not anything about Miami's football program. In recent days Mark Richt has been the target you cats have been unloading your hate on, but you will soon move on to your next innocent victim. You and your gang are the ones who pass around attaboys to one another for slamming the coaches, kids, administrators, etc. and then you are rewarded with praise. Yet, if anyone DARES to have something positive to say about the program this site goes into a meltdown.

You simply don't know what you don't know.

PS: He also donated ONE MILLION DOLLARS to the football program, but of course that doesn't mean anything to you and the other CIS tricycle riding ***** Angels...Vroom! Vroom!

Yes and I was maybe more excited than anyone. Heck, I had dusted off my bottle 25 yd Scotch awaiting the NC title game against Bama. Can’t you see why those four defeats are so condemining. It is his history to be thus. Mark’s million donation is impressive and generous. I know because over the last 40 years I have given over $700,000 myself, and most of that money came from a time when a million was real money.

Not sure why you need to insult people but you seem to like it. You really should climb out of your basement as ask mommy why she did not teach you better. You make good points but fail to understand your conclusions are not the only logical ones and the name calling cry’s out for a diaper change.

Quick question for you, Mr. Einstein...do you feel better after venting to a stranger on the internet? Don't get all balled up trying to author a retort, but after your speech today at the Brookings Institution please entertain all of us with yet another jewel of a response...I can't wait!
Go back to the hills Ernest the marines were looking for a few good men/women fortunately your not what they are looking for.

Seriously, you are in need of a mental tune-up. Do you even read the complete horse **** you post? They had one bad f'ing game and one would think after reading your nonsense that they lost every game last year. And last weeks loss was to an all-girls school who only fielded 5 players while the Canes were playing at home. If you truly believe the nonsense you are posting then why in the world do you still follow the team? Take up underwater knitting or dwarf bowling...you'll be much happier!

Ive seen this porst every coach since Randy Shannon.

Mark Richt couldnt win at UGA. Why is he suddenly going to be better at Miami? Logic is a powerful thiny, folks.

Here is the thing. Regardless of wether you like or dislike Mark, his coaching experience come from two places, FSU and UGA. Both showed tolerance for long serving coaches to continue to fail in the cruicial games that cost them NCs. Bowden would neve have lasted all those years before he was finally basically given and piety NC(the second one was deserved). UGA didn’t even know what a title was so Mark got a very run with nothing to show. He cannot help but be tainted by that. He thinks he has time but he doesn’t. This year’s upcoming recruiting class shows that.

If he does not get he *** in gear and make whatever chances will get results, regardless of his own thinking, he will be gone in two or three years. He needs to be a different Mark, because the old Mark just does not cut it. Maybe all this heat from fans so quick will wake him up to the fact that he is not some great success story by Miami standards. JJ did not bring the wishbone with him to Miami. Mark did bring his offense and it sucks. Many did the same thing, although he talks running Miami defense, in truth it is his failed Manny defense.

It is not the fans complaining about Mark that threaten his success, it is the echo camber of supporters who continue to pat him on the back and tell him his is doing good. We were on the verge on it all happening last year including monster fan response that turned the Rock into the old OB for ND on prime time. Did he grab that and drive it home, no. Instead we sit here with four nasty beat downs in a row. There will be no repeat of last years excellent recruiting class. Heck the early signing period saved that one. Aside from one great DT and a lucky surprise DT, who did Mark close on in February? LSU was the biggest game of Mark life and he didn’t even notice. That is the problem.
Gatorhater, best post I have read in a long time man, spot on bro. Same ole UGA Mark ain't gone get it here for damm sure, I never ought he was a good fit here, you gotta have an edge, and somewhat of an attitude, to fit at Miami. Right looks like he needs to lay down, not much fire, not much emotion, players take on coaches personality and especially in college. Also I'm just not buying the quarterback guru koolaide, stating tonight I would be breaking in a new QB. AND I WOULD ALSO STARTNTHROWING THE GODDDAMM BALL TO MY TIGHT ENDS. Mark is stuck in the 90's, great guy though

Lmao you need to take off your green and orange shades you d@mbf[]_ _[]CK, one game? Really? Is this your first year being a Hurricanes fan? Did you see the last 3 games last season? Your head is so far up your *** it's comical. We are on a 4 game losing streak and the next 3 games are gonna be a joke. Gtfoh and go root for a mediocre team since that's what your expectations are. Last year we had to pull last minute wins multiple times we had no business letting the scoreboard being close.

Manny got continuously outsmarted at Texas with overwhelming better talent than his opponents, why would he be better here with more or less equal talent than his opponents. I just can't figure it out on either guy

I was thinking the same. Yes, it is worlds better than Dno wefense but I knew it isn't a championship defense.

I was going to ignore this thread since OP clearly wants the attention (there are literally a dozen other threads on this topic, no need to start another, but creating a million redundant threads is OP's M.O.). However, the hyperbole is over the top in this one. Very few people are calling for Rick to be fired. Many people are instead calling for Rick to fire dead weight on his staff and hire an OC and sp teams coach. Dead weight includes Jr, Diaz, and Searles. If he doesn't, Rick is going down the same road Al Golden did and letting loyalty take precedence over winning. He'll end up getting himself fired, and fans will have little to do with it other than making an empty stadium very noticeable on TV.
