Calais Campbell

Yeah, 18 seasons for a DT is crazy. I doubt he has the numbers to make the HOF, and he’s never won a Super Bowl. He’s still going strong after 17+ years. Pretty amazing.
Should make HOF on "ironman" merrit....the Cal Ripken of Dlinemen!
18 yrs in the leage is quote an accomplishment, at any position....
But, In the trnches,...thats almost legendary

Wonder if no contenders offered him a contract. Idk why you'd go into your 18th season with a team that has practically no shot at even making the playoffs. Not like he got a very large contract.

He has a very strong case for the HOF. Longevity, multiple Pro Bowls, over 900 tackles and 110 sacks. Great community involvement. Pretty much everything they look for.

Anyone remember the signing day drama? He was from out west, Colorado I think. Signing day his letter didn't come in and folks were freaking out. Turns out they had a huge snow storm and he wasn't able to get access to fax it in until late in the afternoon. His little brother came a few years later, a safety, but was never the impact player Calais was.

I assumed it was so he could retire with the team that drafted him and that he spent the majority of his career with.
