Calais Campbell

When it comes to Calais Campbell as a Hall of Famer...I think you all need to pump the brakes.

There are plenty of players with well over 100 sacks that will not sniff the Hall of Fame. And, I think you need to contextualize that Calais is only on his third year of dominant football. Only a 1x All-Pro.

By comparison, John Abraham was a 5x Pro Bowler and 2x All-Pro with 133 sacks in his career and he's likely not a Hall of Famer. He had EIGHT seasons of 10+ sacks.

Leslie O'Neal...9x Pro Bowler, Rookie of the Year, 130 career sacks, 8 seasons of 10+ sacks.

Now, on to a positive comparison...if a guy like Andre Tippett can get into the Pro Football Hall of Fame with 100 sacks, 5x Pro-Bowler, 2x All-Pro as an edge player with very few seasons of legitimately dominant football...then maybe Calais can get in, but he's still fighting an uphill battle at this point and needs a few more dominant season to be in the conversation.

CC at age 33 is still playing at an elite level while others, like JJ Watt, are breaking down.

Barring injury he’s still got a ton of great football left in him. He’ll end up in the Hall.

Unfortunately, Calais is going to have to wait a bit. He was under appreciated for years in AZ. Dude was sacrificing stats for being a team guy in a scheme. Later in his career, he’s been allowed to do what he’s now doing. He’ll get in, but a ring will help him get in immediately. Not sure we’ll be seeing that, as The Jags have taken a step back since allowing NE off the hook a couple yrs back.
I would have said hall of very good 3 years ago but he keeps playing at this level, kinda like Greg the Leg later in his career. If he can keep this up for the next 2-3 years, I think he does make it. I mentioned Greg Olsen but really the person to mention is Frank Gore who at this point is a lock. If you asked me about Gore when he was 29, I would have said nah, but he just kept going. Fvcker is still going.

Meanwhile here's a good picture of Minshew.

LOL!

That boy balled out last night! He was dropping dimes all game.

First off, I woke up and found out Tulane covered that -5 and couldn't believe it! LOL. Have no clue how Houston lost that game. They looked like they had Tulane on skates all night.

Second, CC isn't a lock by any means. But if he has a 2-3 year run at the level he is playing at now, which isn't impossible seeing that it looks like he is still in his prime, he can make the HOF committee do a double take when his name comes up. Had no idea he had that type of game last night. WOW.

OAN, lets go back and re-draft that 2008 draft again and hes a top 5 pick easily. Maybe #2 overall behind Matt Ryan.

If he gets to 100 sacks, which is going to be very difficult given his age, he will be HOF.

No one says first ballot both Abraham and O’Neal were beast when they played. They will eventually make it in. Didn’t it take TO 2 years? Harrison multiple years? For other reasons but still.

Not an HOF.

His only shot is alt-metrics like added value. The only active defensive player ahead of him is Suggs, who is a shoe-in. Counting stats are very good, but not all that, as others have mentioned.

Class act right here mane! He has my vote ✔

Short Story....Lmao (Still cracks me up til this day)

I remember my ex fiance and I meet him one time . She was scared to take a pic with us . lol I'm pretty solid dude that still has some athletic build in my frame from my days but she was timid for some reason like never before and she usually don't get like that around people especially when i'm in her presence . He was towering over us smiling in his deep voice like young lady don't be scarrrrred na , Imma teddy bear at heart! I don't bite besides ya hubby looks like he can't beat my ***. lol We all laughed and she loosen up and got in the picture.

I agree - HOF doesn't seem likely. He'd probably need about 3 or 4 more 10 sack seasons, Which isn't totally out of the question.

There's a few active guys ahead of him in career sacks:

Terrell Suggs - 134
Cameron Wake - 100
Von Miller - 98
JJ Watt - 92
Ryan Kerrigan - 85
Clay Matthews - 85
Calais Campbell - 84

Guys like Simeon Rice and Clyde Simmons have 122 sacks and aren't in the HOF - so just getting to 100 isn't going to get it done.

Awesome career - but HOF is a long shot.
