Duration puts him in. He only had two double digit sack seasons, but he had a ton of 5-8 sack seasons and played inside a bit too. Being a super solid dude helps too.

I think the reason he is not thought of as highly is because he played during that 20 year decline that we talk about so much. If he played on 1 our more successful teams he would be more highly regarded. I think I remember him having the most sacks by a cane in a single season, right.

Agreed. He also played on the Cardinals for the first half of his career as well as a stint with the Jags. Had he been on New England, we aren’t having this discussion.
