Wow...he was dominating the line of scrimmage and tossing linemen left and right. He was pushing back the line of scrimmage on every play

He played really well today. Glad he comes back next year. Should have a really nice DT rotation next year.

He was good. The USF DL however is years ahead of us. They stuffed the stool out Kehoe's unit all day. Would love to see our DL get close to that level sometime soon.

Does anyone know why we played him today instead of trying to get him a medical RS? Guy has been injured for the whole season, why play him for 2 games? Id rather have him for an extra year. Kid is going to be a BEAST here if he can stay healthy.

Probably because he ain't stayin past next year no how.

Porter is a good player. He is very strong and physical.

Problem is he's made out of tissue paper. The kid is always injured.

Can he stay healthy? That's the big question. If he can it gives our defense the chance to be really good next season.

Because he already got a medical RS last year and you can't get 2.

kid has played 1 decent game and he is all world...only with our fanbase. Reminds be of talk about Forston.....lets see if this kid can play a whole season and dominant before we crown him.

Only reason he's called "soft" is because he's constantly hurt. Other than that, no one can make that claim since there's not much game evidence to back it up. It's a label that will justifiably stick until he can go for the majority of one season.

Would love to see him shed that label. Kid played good today.

I don't believe that is true. The only way you can get a 6th year is if you are out 2 years with injury. You cannot have a regular redshirt year and then a medical redshirt.

I'm not sure what you mean. People were asking why they wouldn't RS him this year. It's a simple answer, he was redshirted last year and you only get one RS. You can apply for a 6th year after your eligibility has been exhausted, but that's not applicable in this case. As pointed out in this thread, it's iffy that Porter would be granted an extra year for 2014 if he played in 2012 and 2013.
