Don't do this to me man. Cautiously optimistic but if you're not at least a little worried then you must not follow recruiting too closely. Recruits can say all the right things but actions speak louder than words. Let's hope this is really just a courtesy visit.

When a stud recruit who has been as loyal as any commit in recent memory goes from saying for months that he won't take any visits to suddenly heading to an $EC program for the final weekend before NSD, it's not something that should just be brushed off. Especially when it's the best player in your class at the most dire position of need.

If Richt can get him to cancel that Tennessee OV, then this will all be much ado about nothing. But if he ends up taking it, we go from our best commit being a 100% lock with zero NSD drama to the door being opened.

I dont think byrd flips, but I would be much mroe upset about him leaving than bruce. Byrd is going to be a stud

im confident though. kid going to leave south florida just because his interim head coach works there now...and not even going to be his position coach but the TE coach at Tennessee while he plays db. I think we're good

Lol if we lose Bruce and Byrd... What a start to the Richt era.

don't think we're losing byrd

both would have been gone long time ago if we still had golden or we hired cristobal or schiano

Exactly, 01canes. You can't just brush this off. Much crazier things have happened then a recruit flipping to a school that his lead recruiter is now at and his best friend/roomie is going to. That being said, my first instinct says he sticks but I'm definitely apprehensive. Let's hope Coach Richt can get him to cancel after his OV this weekend.

Ready for this cycle to be over, I think he sticks for sure but hey you never know

people are way to shell shocked from golden. way to shell shocked. miami is a great school for kids. florida kids love to go there. there is no reason to get so afraid of urban and saban even. this isn't the golden regime , people have to remember that.

richt has a much better success rate recruiting high end kids. his classes at georgia were very good. and he didn't lose commits at last minute there. people need to relax. man if butch davis, howard schnellenberger jj and erickson had thought like fans on this board miami would of never won 5 national titles because they would of curled up into a ball afraid of losing kids to penn st and notre dame.

really grow a pair and have some optimism remember this isn't goldens regime anymore.

You can brush it off because kids take these visits just to take them, yall say free trip when it envolves us why cant it be the same for them?

I agree, but why would anyone take a free trip to Tennessee? A free trip to Miami makes sense - it's paradise, especially in January.

A lot is being made out his relationship Aime and the Tenn board claims he said he will decide on signing day

Mark Walton took a free trip to uga last year dressed in bulldawgs PJs

Didn't know a "offensive quality control staffer" could visit a recruit. I thought only the nine coaches could go on the road and recruit.

There is no doubt in my mind that Tennessee pays players. One of my best friends played WR there in the mid 2000's. I'm not saying Byrd will jump ship but it's never a good thing when your top recruit visits an $EC school last minute!
