Buy your tickets pls

UM has what looks like 5,000 - 6,000 tickets in the upper bowl alone still available. And those are all towards the bottom of the upper deck. Suspiciously, they don't have the higher rows listed as available. I think UM is still sitting on 10,000 - 12,000 tickets. Those don't show up in the open market.

Honestly, it looks like the lower bowl will be mostly filled but the upper deck is going to be 30% - 40%. I think you're looking at 45K - 50K for the game. Which would be incredibly pathetic.
Maybe the top few rows on the visitor side are TAMU allocation? Maybe on the home side they give some away to family and community?

On one side I completely understand elements of their argument, and completely jive with your position about flying across the country...

On the other side, heat and price are weak excuses for this particular game, and many have been scolded for the "show me"/"wait and see"/"cautiously optimistic" position...

In general I understand the angst, that said, it is the A&M game, one of 2 "big" home games and the 2nd week of the season, so if you can get there, get your *** to the game.

Doom hasn't set in yet. But gloom has in this thread.
Bigger game, bigger ticket price. Lame excuse.

Heat in South Florida. Beyond lame excuse.

"Show me." Be part of the atmosphere to do just that. Another lame excuse.

News flash. After market nosebleeds for certain games have been that cheap at times but only on non um sites.
But nobody checks cause nobody wants to go or has had no idea how cheap they’ve actually been. Like I said, make a **** effort to the local fanbase know that going to the games isn’t that expensive and it’s actually a great time with the family.

We won 5 national championships and it started by giving away tickets with a whopper. UM lost that fanbase by wanting to be the Harvard of the south.

When we go back to being a national powerhouse you can start charging that much.
But the perception right now is that we suck and charging 125 per seat in the nosebleeds just because we’re playing tamu is just stupid.
After market? That means the University got its money already. There was no need to sell it for $10.

Dude wants to print coupons 😂😂😂

By the way, any fan base we supposedly lost went away because of losing and can be regained by winning. Not by handing out tickets at Burger King.

Just checked the Miami site, while the upper bowls still have some relatively large swaths of open seats, otherwise it certainly looks like within the last couple of days quite a few seats have been sold.

Lower bowl, of course, will definitely be filled up, but it’s about getting those upper bowls filled up.

So there at least has been some positive momentum in the number of people attending over the last few days. I just really won’t know anything until I’m in my seat and about 5-10 minutes into the first quarter.

And there in lies the problem.
The school cares more about the short term money than the long term investment in regaining the fanbase’s trust.

The school got their money and the seat was empty.

What good is it for recruiting or game experience if the stadium is half full?

We have all these companies and individuals buying seats with a donation attached and they never show up. The parking spaces with those local companies names spray painted on the pavement are mostly always empty.

Those seats in the nosebleeds that are blocked out end up empty. I’ve seen it plenty of times. In 2017 I had 200 level seats and the entire row in front of me belonged to a law firm. The only time it was full was for notre dame. Most of the time it was mostly empty.

In other words you rather charge a sht ton of money because “premiere program” and are ok with a half empty stadium?

It’s better to have a stadium full of people that are on a budget screaming at the top of their lungs than a half empty stadium. Coupons, welfare
whatever you want to call it. But fandom pays dividends.

Those donations from big companies aren’t getting you recruits and aren’t filling the stadium and aren’t cheering in the 4th quarter

Wish this was a night game would add about 5-8k more people right away.

And recruits go to another stadium and see it packed and then come to our ours.

Get the fans win some games then raise the prices.

Nike started by giving shoes away on college campuses.
Again most fans haven’t understood that recruits don’t look at us in the same way they look at Bama, UGa or OSU.

We keep trotting out our past successes and pro bowlers as if kids care about that.
They care about now. And a temporary stop loss for future success is necessary. Even if it’s just for one game this season.

Tomorrow can’t be an embarrassment. If we lose and the stadium is 45k it’s gonna get echoed and amplified.

If we lose and the stadium is madhouse.
“Hey we lost but man I had so much fun”!!
It’s a huge difference.

I guarantee you the players will talk about it during interviews like they did in 2017.
Even the ND players talked about it.

The minute you start thinking that the work that needs to be done is “beneath you” then you know you’re in trouble.
Because yes it’s gotten to that point that we just can’t put a big name on the schedule and expect the place to be packed.

I'll tell u now, there will be more than enough fans there for there to be a home field advantage.. it's another opportunity for Mario and the players to shine with the national spotlight on them.. let's see what they do

You presume that something other than putting a better product on the field, or having a marquee opponent (which to the average fan ATM is not), can pack a stadium.

I contend that a different and lower initial pricing strategy would have made a marginal impact on attendance, short of literally giving tickets away. Even then, I’m not sure if that would have had a major impact.

After last year, and with this opponent, this was always going to be a tough to sell out game.

Having said that, I’m keeping my fingers crossed we get a better than expected crowd.

Winning makes all of these problems go away.

- Price of tickets
- Attendance
- Night vs day
- Limited access off-season
- Season ticket sales

Every single one of them vanishes if you win.
You are 100% correct?
All I’m saying is until we start winning we need to provide our team with any single little advantage we can. And if that means having a huge marketing campaign to make sure that place is packed to the *****, then do it.
Not do the complete opposite and raise prices, and make attending the games even more of an obstacle then it’s already been because of the performance on the field.

Does anyone know how the ticket sales actually work through the various websites?

For example, I see tickets on the U of Miami website section 315, row 20 and all the seats are still available in the entire row for $125. Not a single one sold. If you go on SeatGeek it shows 7 tickets available in the exact same place (section 315, row 20) for $175. So some of the row is listed on multiple sites, including Miami's, but Miami is the only one with all the row. There's multiple instances of that.

What is happening there? Are people able to resell season tickets through the official U of M website, bound by the price Miami chooses, and then those people also listed them on SeatGeek for their own higher price? Or is U of M listing tickets in multiple places for different prices?

Also, there are so many tickets still available thru UM...

I love where your heart is and I would also love to see a packed stadium. But like I said before and some others have mentioned, free tickets delivered to people’s front door still won’t have a significant impact on attendance. That’s just not how south Florida operates.

Here is the deal....attendance for Canes games has and will always be an issue. If and when we establish ourselves as a national contender again, we will still have this issue however if we were currently a top 10 team we would be at or close to a sellout. I am done worrying about attendance. This program always has and will have a chance to dominate again...win tomorrow and they will continue to come. I just care about winning at this point

They should give away the rest of the tickets through Burger King whopper purchases
