Ironically, the more this goes viral the more people will see it and likely buy tickets.
I don't go to every home game because I live in Virginia during the fall. I get the buzz was different last year because anticipation was very high. I think you are looking at a crowd well north of 50K just looking what is available on the secondary market. Not a season ticket expert. But I believe the biggest home opener in a while was the cmr home opener against FAMU.
I don’t know where season tickets stand rk but the raising of prices after last year’s debacle was not a smart move imo.
Usually home openers are a decent crowd, regardless of who it is.
I’ll be there as usual. But I can tell that momentum for games is not where it was at last years opener.
Its been said enough times already. Miami will show up when the product is good.
Smack tamu to pieces and the home crowd for the rest of the season will not be a problem.
If we were ranked this would be a Saturday night game and the difference in atmosphere would be night and day.
Trust me, I know this isn’t what people want to hear but that’s just a reality.
Yes maybe 50-50 is too much. But the local fanbase is still ****ed. I live down here and cis isn’t a reflection of the home crowd.
For example, I’ve sat next to other season-ticket holders who don’t go to every home game.
Anyone can come at me as much as they want on here and say that I’m being a mope or that what I’m saying isn’t true. But if you really want to solve the issue, then show up to the effing game instead of posting about attendance.
2013 was a long time ago and there was a lot of hype and a lot of talent on that team and it was in state rival.
If the week before we would’ve been rolled by middle Tennessee that stadium would be 50% gator.
To put it into context, when FSU went on that huge win streak there were so many noles showing up that it was nauseating just attend that game.
Consequently, the last time fsu fans showed up in force was also 2016 when they blocked the extra point and won the game. They were still riding that jimbo natty high and had won 7 in a row.
The next year they were barely there at hard rock.
The years since they've barely showed up. Even during last years spanking when our fans bounced and their fans stayed it wasn’t that much.
Winners make people show up end of story.
Trust me,
Nothing would please me more than waking up Sunday morning with this post being bumped and everybody reminding me how this post age poorly.
A for effort bro. I always hear alot of moaning but than no one shows up. Anyways I hope that soup kitchen is popping Saturday and we punch A&M in the mouth.Trust me, it hurts to write that post. But Miami is a place of what have you done for me lately.
Part of that post was just to **** people off to see if I can get a reaction and make a mfers show up.
The problem is, I didn’t have to lie at all.
I like the idea, but it reeks of desperation. It’s clear ticket sales are down and we’re doing anything we can to make this a respectable crowd.fwiw - UM is having media tweet the BOGO offer out. theyre doing a massive blast on these offers (ive received multiple emails and I have season tickets). every local media member and paper has been tweeting it and writing on it in their articles. it isnt just reporters hate us. this is absolutely a coordinated effort by UM to get the word out to increase sales through them and not stub hub or other markets
You don't need a ticket to go to the blue lot.BUY A TICKET AND JOIN ME IN THE BLUE LOT. WE GONNA POP THESE MOTHER ****ERS!!
I guess the media embargo imposed in offseason is over? They couldnt get the games blacked out so time to advertise!! Go go go! Coffee is for closer!!fwiw - UM is having media tweet the BOGO offer out. theyre doing a massive blast on these offers (ive received multiple emails and I have season tickets). every local media member and paper has been tweeting it and writing on it in their articles. it isnt just reporters hate us. this is absolutely a coordinated effort by UM to get the word out to increase sales through them and not stub hub or other markets
it was storming for 2 hours b4 the game n during....Lol I have season tickets in the lower bowl n my section was popping but naw alot less ppl than expected. It was a horrible look.
Week 1 was embarrassing crowd wise. I was really disappointed about the atmosphere. I get it, wack opponent, on a Friday, plus the weather wasn't great, but dam that sh111t is weak. And some of u fluckers want a new stadium down south where theres even more traffic lmfao.
its not gonna sell out. the ticket prices are too high through UM. the only way It sells out is through UMThere’s no shot that this game isn’t sold out. Still plenty of time Thursday/Friday for people to attend but this is the biggest home game we have this year…even Clemson may not be as big after what happened @Duke
This is a top 25 SEC opponent there is absolutely no need for this stadium to not be filled (which I think it will be)
theyre idiots. talked bout it preseason when renewals came up. you can't raise prices off a ****** season. delay your price jump another season to get fans back in the door.I'll be there.
Have spoken to several that are not going due to the cost of tickets and parking. And plenty of tickets available by the thousands. Extremely expensive for the average fan. Not sure what the Athletic Dept was thinking setting the ticket prices and now they're backpedaling offering a BOGO deal to include GT.
its also a Friday night on Labor Day weekend in miami. a ton of people travel out of town and theyre not delaying their vacation for a weak opponent week 1it was storming for 2 hours b4 the game n during....
add to it afriday night where folks also had high school games as well. PPl like me were at a high school game coaching.
they sought profits rather than fans when they did renewals and ticket pricing. much cheaper to buy off secondary market than through the school. unfortunately, secondary market tickets dont sell out the stadiumOptics doesnt matter how they get sales. They should not be raising ticket prices off that horrible season though. I go to most of the games and dont care to engage rivals about our attendance, it is what it is. We been horrible, i saw empty seats at Doak when Taggart was there and also in Gainesville. Im not making any excuses, it is what it is. We need to get the excitement back. Fans are beaten down. They need to do better marketing in the offseason and promos to get the kids out.
There were zero students there, that was clearly evident due to Labor Day.its also a Friday night on Labor Day weekend in miami. a ton of people travel out of town and theyre not delaying their vacation for a weak opponent week 1
50/50? You're out of your mind.I don’t think the opponent had anything to do with it or the weather honestly.
I think the lackluster crowds this year will be because of the horrible performance we had last year.
I feel like the crowd is gonna be 50-50 this weekend.
A lot of tamu fans aren’t gonna mind traveling to Miami for the weekend. Especially when they think they gonna push us around and roll.
It’s just as hot and humid in college station as it is in sofla.
Now, if we smack them in the mouth and roll, expect ticket sales to explode.
Too many lies told for too many years and people are gonna want to see it before they buy it.
Unfortunately, this is the state where we’re at.
I sure hope it does, there’s absolutely no sense in UM essentially begging people to buy tickets and also have these prices through the absolute roofits not gonna sell out. the ticket prices are too high through UM. the only way It sells out is through UM
If that's the one game that these fans would go to all year, then it is hardly "extremely expensive." If you're talking season tickets, then this game plus Clemson were easily half the value of the sticker price ($1000) of the seat/parking (club level/yellow). So $250 is pretty reasonable for a secondary market sale.I'll be there.
