It’s entirely possible that Butch was the right guy the past couple times we hired a coach, and not the right guy now, because time waits for no man and circumstances change.

But the butthurt mindset of fans that were more interested in hating butch for leaving us than in getting our program fixed, that is eternal, and part of why the program keeps making bad decisions.

Fans are finally starting to realize that the UM model should be finding coaches who can depart for the nfl. That’s what worked for us, and there are plenty of reasons why. But if so, then why all the hatred for butch?

Yes. Technically, he left “on his own”. The way you finally leave a fiancé that refuses to set a wedding date for ten years. You can’t completely absolve the UM administration of what went down with Butch. Well, there is a ton of evidence that he can rebuild UM, find and develop UM players into superstars, hire great UM assistant etc coaches, coach those teams when not decimated by sanctions to at least a 11-1 record, the *1 being a ref rape loss to a NC title contender highly ranked very talented as well Washington on the road, by 5 points, etc.
There is also the fact that he would now have several more years HC experience in both NFL and college, whereas he was definitely on a learning curve as first time HC previously.
What is your fantasy contrary evidence against him other than hatred or some form of butthurt?
