@RVACane ....This is why I'm a Member of a Private UM Site, with many former players...
You don't have people talking ****...especially family members...They wouldn't put up with that BS....Unfortunately here, its commonplace....

caneinorlando makes it too easy for them, all it takes is a few disagreements and they know they can't get a rise out of the guy. Some posts should just be ignored, I got people that heckle me from time to time on here trying to insinuate i'm this or that. It's like dealing with children, if you give attention to what they're looking for they're just gonna keep doing what they're doing, so treat them like children.

Davis gets a bad rap because of some dumb chit but the reality is he was Miami's last great coach. He beat Diaz with a HS squad last year. I mean that's pathetic. He out coached Diaz badly.

Had it not been for that scandle at UNC he had those guys on the brink. He assembled an array of talent there too. Playing without 13 or whatever it was players and hanging in, chit dam near beat a pretty talented LSU team

No one here is saying anything to the contrary about Butch being a great coach while he was here. Its how he left here, especially the lying, and what he's said since that made a lot of fans sour on him.

Some of it is people who legit disagree with him. Someone mentioned this but for me, Butch leaving was the worst thing that happened to UM football and to Butch. There was no winner there. Butch at least got financially rewarded. After Clappy won with Butch’s guys, we’ve never been the same.

That he whipped our asses at UNC and THEN at FIU - one time is a fluke - multiple times over years - that's coaching.

I think everyone says it because it's true.

We stomped his alleged best team ever at UNC, 5-2 and ranked, 33-10 his last season there. Whipped our asses seems a little extreme imo.

Yeah - that year was the year UNC was caught with ACADEMIC NCAA violations - and 14 of his football players had taken UNC crip courses and had to sit out at least one game - and seven of the 14 had to sit out the entire season - many of his top players.

Everyone supported Butch Davis - except the BOD. He was sacrificed to get in front of NCAA sanctions.

So we beat his depleted UNC team?

Wow. Impressive.
