I really don't get why Canes fans hate Butch Davis.

He wasn't who I thought Miami should have hired (Richt wasn't either) but don't understand down right hating him. He did some great things here.

I think people hate the idea that Davis is some sort of coaching legend, who we should have hired again, and who would have UM killing it right now more than they hate Davis.

First, let's not pretend that the 95 team was some type of dumpster fire. It wasn't quite as loaded as the late 80's early 90's teams but they didn't suck. The prior year, they went 10-2, played in the Orange Bowl and lost by one score to the eventual national champion, Nebraska.

Second, Butch was gone before Shalala took the job at Miami.

i wonder if some people were old enough to remember what butch did. I mean i hated coker as OC and got frustrated at times but the man literally saved a program. one draft class of his matches the best bama players put out in the while saban era. NO butch players even hit a rookie wall in NFL. he was recruiting his butt off because FSU was making their mvoe at the time and EVERYONE wanted to play at FSU.
