The only way you don't turn up being the ringleader of stupidity on this board, is if Richt vindicates you. You think you're the genius who finds the light in him no one else can.

Not thinking Butch is the right guy now is fine, I don't want him this go around. But trying to knock down what he did here under the circumstances without even being around to see it is not only stupid, but arrogant.

Another guy taking himself way too seriously.

No one is knocking down what Butch did here. People are knocking down the idea that Butch is some kind of football savant who turns everything into gold and would turn our program around and turn us into Alabama. He had a nice run 20 years ago. Cool.

It's somewhere in-between him being just some dude who"like, had a good run 20 years go, cool" and him being a deity. It's hard for you to look up a couple wiki articles and get it. Miami was an absolute afterthought. It was all FSU-UF with Spurrier and Bowden, you wouldn't even hear a mention of Miami even in South Florida after the sanctions.

We haven't really seen that dynamic here in a long time where Florida and FSU are elite elite programs simultaneously fighting for championships. They had all the momentum and this Butch dude just ends up building a team no one has ever seen before with no momentum at all. IT was impressive and lead to some of the most exciting players and teams we've seen. He's likely washed up now and the game may have passed him by, especially with the offensive movement. But trying to look at his his coaching record and deflecting to things like FIU and national championships sounds ignorant to those who witnessed it.

I agree except he's proving he still has it now. Even with offense, their #51 in the country (2nd highest on our schedule) that's amazing at FIU.

See I’m totally open to debating 2018 Butch. But digging back into Miami era Butch to discredit him is rediculous.

Deflecting to things like FIU and losing with the greatest team of all time is a direct response to "Butch is a football gawd and would have us in the playoffs in two years".

LOL while he's brought in their best class ever in his first year and gave them their most wins ever in his 2nd. He would absolutely bring us back to competing at the highest levels. Meanwhile, Rorcht.......

He never coached the best team of all time. (2001) He lost one game to a one loss team on the road when Miami was just starting to take the next step. Team was completely different at the season went on and lead into the next year where a clappy grandpa won it all. Again, you had to be there.

See, this is the entertainment I'm talking about. This guy actually correlates an FIU recruiting class with taking a P5 team to the next level.

If only we had taken a chance on a guy who won games with a horrible team......
