Butch Ain't Coming Back

And Rashad McCants said Roy Williams knew all about this as well and he is still at the school. Evidently the word of a sour player doesn't run the show.

And the NCAA said Butch knew nothing about this and that's what matters at the end of the day. To think this nails the Butch coffin shut is wrong. Still going to be a borderline miracle for him to get the job but this really doesn't change the situation.

For what it's worth, I was told by an admin member that Golden would need to lose out at this point for him to get potentially get fired. If Butch ever comes back, it would be next year when the academic fraud issues have subsided somewhat. Some reverse fools in here.

Stop distracting from FSU week.

so often i agree with you, but this time i think you are off

A former North Carolina football player just put him on blast on the radio.

Says He encouraged him to take the fraud classes and said if you care about your education you shouldve went to Harvard.
So Butch told his players the same thing every other coach in America, except the university of Miami, tells their players?

Fair enough. I might be thinking more with my heart than my head but a lot could change and be forgotten going into next year.

I get it, but if UM as an institution can get held accountable even if they didnt know what Shapiro did (and did to many others), well same kind of applies to Butch- regardless of what ncaa initially said, 18 years of instutional **** has to rub off on him. Sucks but dont see it happening, even if we get a football lovin' scotch drinkin' new president.

I think the only difference is that Miami is a vicious watchdog when it comes to classes. UNC admin let this go on while Miami admin would come down with ungodly hellfire if they though something similar was afoot. They would never let what UNC did take place. That's different because Shapiro was doing his **** off campus and away from watchful eyes.

But at least for now I might have to give up on Butch until the scandal blows over.

Stop the presses. High school athlete gets into a college he could never get into academically based on athletic ability. Highlights at 10:00.

Mouthbreather McAdoo didn't realize he was in sham classes when there was no class, no homework, no assignments and no tests?

Waited until a class action to pile on.

"I definitely lost out on two seasons of football which would have put me in a better situation than I am now," - McAdoo

"It also seeks some kind of relief for the athletes like McAdoo who did not get the education they were promised." from the article

Only paper he has ever been interested in are Benjamins.

Still, can't really hate on him I guess.

All this phuckery could be avoided if the governing bodies would simply put away the fairytale notion that these are "amateur" athletes playing for an education.

Yup..just read it on my phone. Basically calling butch and all the coaches at UNC out

Is there something more up with Butch even beyond this? Like why isn't the guy at worst a positions corch in the NFL? Seems like the "Butch just wants a job any decent job" conversation has been going on wayyyyyy to long for a guy with his resume. I mean even if he wants a college job, wouldn't being something like a LB coach in the NFL (like Leavitt) be a quicker path back than occasionally appearing on ESPN?

Yup - if you are Nth Carolina you are worried about the NCAA + the class action lawsuit which will cost millions

And if you are Miami and you hire Butch and there are ANY problems ----- the NCAA punishes you for ignoring the past

The clip was played this morning on Baltimore's local sports radio station. Based on what was said, Butch is now officially untouchable as a HC. Too bad.

Yeah...but did he say it twice?

Saying it twice would matter in a court of law. In the court of public opinion, speculation can be just as damning. I'm glad the accusation is out there; anything not to regurgitate old coaches.

Always move forward!

Hardest course I even took was an independent study course. It is not the absence of classes that made these courses shams. It was fairly tale type subject matter, no work, and the institutional intention to make the courses guaranteed credits. It seems like a lot of non-athletes took the courses also. UNC is by most accounts a superior educational institution, probably more akin to Harvard than our beloved U has even been. If I am not mistaken, Harvard offers quite a few no-grade courses. My point is that there may be more to this than some football assistance program. Maybe, these "elite" universities admit students, not just football players, who have no business in college and then have to make up give-mes for them to make it out. ****, you never know, one of them could end up being president of the USA one day.
