Bunch of whiners

Fair officiating??
How long have you been watching the Canes for, a week?
That's an integral part of Canes football the last few decades, playing vs the refs too

Sorry.... I have been a Canes fan for a long time... this year, outside of the Schnellenberger team in ‘81 that was ripped off by bad calls, the team faced more unbalanced officiated games than any I have seen.
Having said that, we are still a QB and a handful of difference makers away from the playoff. We might be ready next year if Perry steps forward.

Canes didn't think Wis was going to throw the ball. They prepared for GaTech.

I was pretty upset last night. I've had sometime to comedown and reflect.
We have a few things to work on to move into the next level. But overall considering where the program was two years ago and where recruiting is headed...honestly feel positive about where we are.
As far as the bowl game...I'm certainly concerned about the offense BUT as coach macho pointed out we gained more yards than they allow by a good margin and our offensive output against them is similar to what OSU did against them. Don't know what that means as far as us becoming a top offense in the future. I have to believe that doing that without your top three players on offense means something.
Defense is what scares me the most. I think we did a good job containing their running game. It actually didn't kill us and when Wisconsin tried to just run we got off the field. The fact that Wisconsin beat us by throwing the ball is what is concerning. Not just because of this game but because it's been a trend to make just about every QB (unless they play for VT or ND) to look like the best QB in country.
This is something that if they don't fix will keep us from getting to the next level.

Everybody complains about Richt, bad playcalling, Diaz, DBs who can't turn their heads....fact is, we got ripped off by refs who ignore holding and pass interferences

We were playing against Wisconsin AND the refs.

Fair officiating maybe win, or at least it's closer.

Stop beating up on our team and its coaches.

Now this is an all timer. I'm so glad I found it before it tumbled from view off the first page.

Talk about parody. We're told not to whine, and then the theme of the thread is we were ripped off by the referees.

Hilarious. That is the ultimate whine, the always-dependable crutch.

Soft defenses are defined by running plays rambling up the gut and soft fans are defined by how frequently they complain about officiating.

We have the worst fans in college football, CIS proves that.

There are a lot of good posters here, but the people that post 500 times a day do so just to whine and complain. They were whining and complaining when we were 10-0, nothing will ever be good enough for them.

If CIS were around during the 2001 season people would have lost their minds after the VT and BC games.

We accomplished all of what everyone agreed were our preseason goals. Yet its still a failure to half the board

Just because we see room for improvement doesn't mean we're not happy with the way the season went overall

Sorry; but our mantra has always been us against the world. CFB refs are the worst and we should NEVER EVER be in a position where the refs can decide the game. Jimmy been told us that. We need more vocal leaders on this team who are angry that we are up by only 20 at half time. Until we impose our will on every team we face, we’re going to be complaining about the same thing.

Absolutely there’s bias against us; I mean for God’s sake, E$PN put up a graphic that Richt got upset from a targeting call! They didn’t discuss how egregious of a non holding call it was that gave Wisconsin it’s 3rd TD, they were too busy saying how Richt should’ve been ejected! The back judge absolutely saw Cager’s pants and jersey being ripped, but no int or def holding. So yes, there’s bias; however, we should’ve never been in that position. Capable QB w a def that can get their butts off the field on 3rd downs can help w that.

The officiating cost us in this game. Big time. As deficient as we were in many aspects, we still did enough to win. We can work on correcting our shortcomings but we could have still won with fair officiating.

No argument there.

Your response makes even less sense the more I read it.

"Soft defenses are defined by running plays rambling up the gut..."

What does that mean? It makes no sense. Absolutely none. Are you meaning to suggest UM's defense was soft? When we held Wisconsin substantially below their season AVG? Please explain.

So, complaining about officiating defines a "soft" fan? As far as I remember, fans here very seldom complain about the officiating when, in fact, it's been a problem all season long. It wasn't until this game that it was decisive. It didn't cost us a close game against Clemson and it was pretty clear that poor QB play was the overriding factor against Pitt. Despite very mediocre QB play against Wisconsin, we were still in the game and dould have won but for failure to call critical penalties. There were multiple critical factors in our loss: poor QB play, poor OL line, poor DB play and bad non-calls. Eliminate any one or two and it might have made a difference.

I call people out for whining when they incessantly complain about the coach and the players when despite their less than stellar play, we could have won but for getting screwed by the refs. Instead of complaining all the time about Richt and Rosier and the others, who have all coached or played their hearts out for us, lets complain for once about the people who are biased and ***** us, like the officials.

I'm tired of self-punishment. We can work about fixing our own shortcomings, some of which will take more top-level recruiting and another year or so to fix, and complain about those who are not on our side and display ill-will and bias. lI'm disgusted about officials all season long who ignore obvious penalties. Maybe Trent Harris would have had 20 sacks this year if all the holding this guy gets had been called. The refs must be retreads from Comey's FBI they're so biased and derelict in performing their duties.

There should be an independent ethical board for officials. Maybe good officiating wouldn't have saved us against Clemson, but i twould have probably turned around the game against Wisconsin.

So I guess Richt is soft and a whiner for finally losing his cool and going off on the refs. It was long overdue.

Jimmy Johnson used to work the officials from the sideline. He would grab his shirt and pull on it so that it was obvious to the officials he was riding them for not calling it. I took a camera to the 1988 Michigan game, where I remember him doing it the most, and when I got home and developed the pictures (1988-pre-digital camera era) I was shocked to see Michigan blockers in our secondary tackling LBs and DBs around the knees. I never noticed this stuff while sitting in the stands watching the game.

I see all this poison directed at Richt, Rosier, and so forth, people who came to the U, players who bled on Greentree, people who cast their lot with UM and work their butt off, and nobody complains about when we get screwed by people who don't like us and wish us ill, and that probably includes some officials.

Great post! Agree 100%

Not even the Joe Montana led Niners could have survived so many horrible no calls. Just a total lack of ethics and integrity by the refs and the NCAA.

With as bad as it was all year long, this was even worse. These refs don’t even care anymore. They cheat without even blinking an eye.

Somebody needs to break their foot off in their ***. Real talk.

Face it: Miami will never win a close game where the refs have the opportunity to decide the outcome. We must dominate and not have close games any time. Hard to do, but they will ***** us every time.

Losing your final 3 games will turn even your best fans into pessimists.

Overall nice year but let's not front here. We have issues that need to be fixed.

^^^This all day. Rosier is what he is and I didn't expect much from him but our final 4 games, from UVA on, show serious problems defensively and no improvements.

Refereeing is an issue but I'm not going to pretend that we don't have internal issues to fix. I'm hopeful Richt won't either. He's too good a coach for that.

Our defense did well all year. The last few games they were asked to do too much. They were on the field most of the game. When you don't sustain offensive drives your defense is gonna wear out. Was the scheme perfect...no, but all schemes will fail if you get exhausted. Rosier just isn't a good QB. He has tons of heart, but I hope we see another player next year.

Hey if the team didn't want Wisky to score, they shouldn't let them in the end zone.

Any body whining about the best season in more then 15 years is a freaking fool. Now if we are 10-3 next season ( really 11-3 since we didnt get to play Ark st) I would say they should whine . Next season is a 13-1 type season or at least it should be . But lets be honest this board is wretched hive of scum and villany for the most part. I love the canes but we have a large portion of fans who lives in 80's and not reality . We are in the best state we have been in since 2002 . It is great to be part of the resurgence !
