at rb ... mallory is the clear #2 ... 14car for 63

alot of shade was thrown, and well deserved ... but playing sj proved to be beneficial

both young te's got snaps

finally saw a healthy dose of booker pickett, i'm sure he was credited with a few pressures

ryan mack had a few nice reps against good receivers

lafayette was a problem

dylan day had his most burn since the ole miss game

it was nice to see us play guys in a big time environment ... did i miss anyone?

still don't think Mallory is the clear #2, he played well 4.5 ypc but that's not so good that you don't give the ball to a player who averaged 6.0 ypc in starts last year. Pringle can change that with 1 run. both can play but you can't only give Pringle 1 carry and then forget about him. if you want to use the bigger backs to close the game late, that's fine, but Pringle need carries earlier then. RB is way more fluid than people think. Pringle was getting work in these games with some truly atrocious blocking and now he's not getting any chance to show what he can do with some blocking. if Matt Merritt was still here this would look different.

i been saying Booker Pickett was our best pure pass rusher since last year. he's always making the QB feel him.

Ryan Mack should keep Brown permanently on the bench.

mallory has a forward lean that makes him different, he finishes runs ... pringle doesn't

true but Pringle runs a 10.4 with the best acceleration I've ever seen with a Miami RB. different doesn't mean better. like I said I've got no problem with Mallory getting carries, he looks like a player, especially in short yardage or where you just want 4 yards. people overlooking Pringle may be surprised down the line.

Pringle wasn't going to do a **** thing closing out that game last night. Pringle is a gadget player at best.

Pringle and Lyle have value this year simply to take meaningless snaps to close out upcoming blowouts so Fletch and Mallory can stay fresh.

Pringle has talent but he dances too much and goes down on any hint of contact. Mallory showed last night in the fourth quarter why he's the clear #2

Pringle doesn't dance at all. The most direct RB on the team by a mile. In fact he may be too direct. Pringle was the 4th RB this time last year and ended starting. This is far from over.

This is a wild argument when Pringle is averaging 3.7 ypc vs 6.0 last season….and Mallory is averaging 7.4 besting Pringle’s FR season to begin with.

Pringle can’t block! You got to let this go, man. We all know you love him, but he can’t ******* block. Mallory can, end of story, dude.

He didn’t end up starting last year, he ended up on the bench because he couldn’t block in the playoffs. You gotta start seeing the reality on this dude because it’s getting ridiculous on here. He was benched the whole playoffs because he couldn’t ******* block! It’s insane your dedication on this, let it go, man. Are you his dad or something?

Yeah, unfortunately not a track meet.

one could say it would be nice to get the player who averaged 6.0 ypc going. that could help this squad. like I said he has had some terrible blocking so far this year, mainly vs Stanford and Wake. what is more likely here, he forgot how to run or the line we have been complaining about wasn't playing well? notice I never said Pringle should be #2 right now. Mallory has earned that IMO. All I am saying is give Pringle more than 1 carry so he does actually have a chance to earn more reps. seem reasonable?

The depth was incredible., Mack and Day played well.
Scroggine and Pickett played great.

The guy has talent but he isn't the type of back you can lean on to close out a game like last night or any of the playoff games from last year.

Get him carries against UNC and Pitt to keep Fletch and Mallory fresh, but when we need a physical presence in the run game it isn't Pringle.

You're right Pringle is a 10.4 guy but that doesn't matter much if you can't break a tackle just look at Chris Johnson at Clemson last night

I like Pringle and I’d prefer he get more snaps but Mallory is a much better fit for this offense and scheme. He finishes runs and punishes people. On top of that his vision is very good , he rarely makes the wrong decision. Vision is the one gift that separates running backs. Seeing a hole that’s not there or seeing it faster than another rb makes an enormous difference.

that's what I said. I am fine with Mallory getting carries to close the game. I think he's made for that. All I said was give Pringle more work earlier. If you just give him 1 carry how is he ever supposed to show his talent we all saw?

FYI Mallory and Pringle were tied this year in yads after contact not counting FAMU game

Edit.....and this stat should tell you Pringle has not been given much blocking help. he's not getting anything prior to contact. giving him more than 1 carry doesn't seem like a controversial take here

Not to mention his blocking keeps defenses guesses what the play call is.
