Bubba Baxa

Roberto Aguayo (FSU) never missed a PAT, or a FG inside 35 yards. Currently an intern at PGA REACH, the PGA of America’s charitable foundation.

Bags missed a few he shouldn't have. Kicking in the NFL.

Aguayo was FSU's Huerta.

Amazimg CFB, not so much at pro level.

The funny thing is we've had a lot of really good kickers here. People here thought Badgley was a bum and he's one of the NFL's better kickers. NFL level kickers are super rare. For the most part, Miami has had really good college kickers over the years.

The OP lost me in his first sentence. Badgely was a good kicker for us. Especially from 40-49 where most kickers in college struggle.

Scares the **** out of me. This is Badgley reincarnated. It's hard to win a dogfight when you cant rely on your kicker to make a gimme. He missed a chipshot against FsU last year that almost cost us that game. Missed a field goal against LSU when we were trying to comeback. Missed a kick against Duke in a close game we lost. That miss Saturday cost us the game plain and simple. Was a 10 point swing and we had the momentum back. Until we get another Huerta or at least Sievers we are hosed. Hope this recruit we got is the real deal because Bubba is gonna kill us.

Carlos is out in Vegas hanging with a buddy of mine.
The man had ice in his veins.
The best UM kicker of all time IMO.
I don't want to here about Bayonne Badgley's records.

Seivers?
I could hardly breathe in the stands before the 2002 natty kick at the end of regulation.
How the **** do you kick that after those time outs and 100 million people watching?
Clutch.

Yes, and was inconsistent in the NFL. Never missed under 35 yards (or was it 40?) at FSU. Missed his first PAT in the NFL.

I think Huerta kicked in the tee era, right? A lot of great college PKs from that era failed in the NFL.

In hindsight i didn't like the fact that we didn't go for it on 4th and short at times.

Seems like Mullen was willing to pull out all the stops in order to win this game ......and we played it safe whenever givei a choice.

That being said,. I am pleased with our overall effort and NO one can deny that we had many opportunities to win the game..

Putting the blame blame on ANY ONE person or event is NOT fair in any way.

There is PLENTY of blame to go around. Losing this game took a team effort. From the players on both sides of the ball ..all the way up to each and every coach.

We had our chances. A great many of them.

I'm looking forward to seeing a much more disciplined intense effort vs. UNC and hopefully the result will eliminate any need for finger pointing

Keep in mind that he had to kick that FG right after having a great run on the fake FG where he took a hard cheap shot out of bounds. We should have been able to capitalize on that new set of downs instead of making him kick it like 30 seconds later.
This.

We need 7's, not 3's.

Kicking a field goal or extra point required 3 players to get it right. Snapper, holder and kicker. Not saying snap or hold was not good Sat but fans always blame the kicker. How many bashing Baxa have actually reviewed the whole scenario on film.

Baxa has been a pretty good kicker so far. You don't appreciate how horrible it can get until you have a bad kicker.

Hopefully, he doesn't go into a shell because of this.
Maybe he just seems terrible to me. How many pats and kicks under 40 did he miss last year? This year he’s missed 33% of his kicks and it was a gimme. To me a good kicker is 100% on PATs and kicks under 35 yards. Our kickers in the past were big reasons we won championships.

So right on about Seivers. Him going 4/4 against Boston College in that road game was big time.

We also did him no favors by giving him a bad angle. It's the same spot he had problems last year.

Ironically, that close up there's a small margin of error. The problem is not one of leg strength but accuracy and alignment. There's a reason why many teams, if they have a down, run it into the middle of the field to give the kicker the widest angle, particularly in college with the wider hash marks.

And don’t forget the OL blocking. I know the kick wasn’t blocked but that’s another unit that needs to work together.

Baxa went 4 of 10 in high school. Were they like 73 yarders or was his snapper and holder a joke or am I drunk? 281-330-8004
