Maybe the best thing to happen in his life (besides going to Belen, of course, prior to Columbus) was being in a Safety room with Jakobe Thomas and coached by Hetherman. He needs to learn to fill and play the plays that are coming directly at him. Strange, sometimes hesitant angles so far. His field vision is way, way ahead. And, you can't teach that stuff at Safety. You either have + peripheral vision and "see it" (the formation as a whole and how it shifts together) or don't, IMO.

Ball skills are obviously elite & like that he appears to be a willing tackler. Just needs to bulk up & adopt physical nature of our transfer safeties.

Can’t teach those instincts. Still have concerns about physicality but this is the exact type of team where 1) those deficiencies are easiest to hide and 2) hopefully some of this defense’s mentality rubs off on him.
He ain’t out there missing tackles, so
The one thing he is elite at is being a safety
couldve Been an elite WR too

How good can he be? I liked the physicality he played with on Saturday.

Let's give some credit to the Cane D guy (can't make out the number) who smashed Castellanos as he threw the ball Fitz intercepted.

He has elite instincts and field vision. Great angles and explosive first step towards the ball in the air. He will need to become better down hill safety…can he break on digs and curls? Can he get ball carriers to the ground that get into the 2nd level? Those are open questions. If he can somewhat do that with athletic profile, watch out

He’s going to need to add weight obviously to become an elite safety who can do both. Right now he’s pacing for 5+ interceptions this season which is amazing for a freshman but he’s listed at 172 pounds.
There is no way he’s 172. He would look like a string bean out there. He looks 190 at a minimum.

The way he snatched that ball has me thinking he needs some reps at WR next year.

in terms of athleticism and ball skills -- Daryl Williams

It's the one that came to mind as well. Maybe it's seeing the 1 and 3 on a jersey.

One of my favs and most underappreciated dudes. Arguably the 3rd most athletic safety ever to suit up and he could lay the lumber.
