Bryan Pata case update - retrial moved to September due to misconduct allegations (p.9)

So why so contentious? My issue is with the shooter, not some title in a thread. Flex somewhere else.
First of all, you started with me. I just asked you a simple question. And if I wanted to "flex," which I'm not, I can do it wherever I want to.

But no one has been proven to be the shooter yet. Unfortunately, for the Pata family, I don't think they will ever get closure, but that's just my legal opinion and I've been saying that here for years.

Way to moderate sir...by going back and forth with a single poster. JOB WELL DONE.

I didn’t realize Maudes weren’t allowed to participate in commentary by posting on the message board and asking other posters questions. Please forgive me for deigning to speak to you.

I now know my place.

So I'm not being hostile at all and I'm not suggesting you said I was hostile. But, I only want the killer of this young man captured, tried and given a sentence. I am angry ONLY about that. Football is one thing, murder is something else and it is repulsive that we don't have a conclusion. Bryan Pata deserves better.

And we agree on this 100%. MDPD really screwed this up and unfortunately I fear that Pata and his family are never going to get the closure they deserve.

I had classes with Bryan and the key witness in the case was a professor in my minor (he was a great person and teacher). But I’m also uncomfortable with assuming another person is Bryan’s killer when a five of six jurors were going to acquit him. There’s only a second trial because one juror held out for a guilty verdict so a mistrial was declared and now they are retrying him. And now, as I outlined in an above post last week, there are numerous issues and misconduct allegations on the prosecution’s side. After all this time and so many issues, it will be hard for them to get a conviction even if Jones really did do it.

It sucks so, so badly, and I hate it too. I hate that Bryan’s family has to keep going through all of this. After two decades, they shouldn’t have to keep reliving their grief over and over.
