Louisville. They were 4-1 coming into the game with that single loss being an OT loss to Virginia who’s one win away from winning the ACC and making the CFP. Louisville hadn’t received a single vote in the AP Top 25 the week prior which I found surprising considering they were on a lot of preseason “way too early” top 25 projections in the Spring and summer. They were ranked after beating us and stayed ranked a little while longer. Just beat big bad SEC Kentucky 41-0 and did hand James Madison, a potential G5 team CFP team, their lone single loss. We lost to Louisville by 3. Like SMU, no one considers Louisville a bad program. Notre Dame is 1-1 against them (2023-2024), losing by 2 scores in 2023 and 1 score in 2024. Just stop it already.

These are not bad losses. If any dip**** saying otherwise is just as you said, a lazy ****, and a dumb one too. There is no argument for choosing ND over Miami. It was decided on the field. The fact we’re debating this is insane.

Exactly! That’s why the “unranked” thing is ridiculous. The rankings are based on political bs and are inherently flawed by every scientific measure. They are only partially indicative of a team’s ability, talent, and skill. The most important consideration for a team’s ranking is its conference affiliation, and the Top 25 cutoff is just an arbitrary talking point for lowlife, brainless bobbleheads.

At some point these morons in that room need to turn their brains on and release that.

The eye test is bull **** too. I want someone to prove to me beyond a shadow of a doubt ND would beat us. Idgaf if we played there, here or Mars with no space suits. I’d bet my 401k, we’d beat them worse. This version of the Miami Hurricanes is better than the one we saw the first four games.

But even you want to use that to explain it, tell me we aren’t passing the eye test with flying colors. I mean Nick freaking Saban said we’re the most the dangerous team. And if I’m trusting anyone’s eye test, it’s the best college coach God himself ever created.

I agree 100%.

I still can’t believe the CFP says Alabama win over Auburn was worthy of moving Alabama up a spot. So what if Alabama was up 17-0? They were tied at 20 late in the game. And it is irrelevant Alabama scored on a fourth and two play late in the game. Auburn had an interim head coach.

If the SEC and Big Ten want to control four spots each in the CFP just say so. Do it. Make it a contractual requirement. Or create your own championship playoff between the two conferences. Heck, add Notre Dame to the Big Ten and tell the rest of college football to go **** themselves. Be upfront about it instead of manipulating it.

The CFP committee is insulting everyone’s intelligence because everyone can see right through their bull****.

If the committee wants to talk eye test and be subjective, I want to see their betting slips from the last 5 years. Anything under a 80 percent win rate is disqualifying.

Imagine ND hinging their argument that their only two losses are to playoff caliber teams, only to want to get into the playoffs to play playoff caliber teams.

Why do we want ND in if they showed they can't beat this year's playoff teams?

This is really what it boils down to. The committee just makes up whatever criteria it wants to justify where it wants teams. There’s no reason Bama should be rewarded the same type of wins Utah got dropped for in consecutive weeks.

If it’s quality of losses as opposed to head to head matter, there’s no reason for Texas Tech to be ahead of BYU. BYU loss to a top 10 team, Tech loss to unranked ASU. But that doesn’t count against Tech because they point to the head to head there.

I feel a little bad for Mario and the players who got to deal with this BS. Especially since half the fan base was ready to can Mario a few weeks ago

Calling us a playoff caliber that beat them while telling us we don't deserve to go to the playoffs over them.
