2015 Miramar offensive lineman Leeward Brown committed to the University of Miami in February. Since he made that pledge to the Hurricanes, schools have continued to push for Brown.
Marshall, South Florida, East Carolina, FIU, FAU, and Temple are all still showing Brown heavy attention.
-maintains he is strong in his commitment to the Hurricanes.
-Says “I just like their family tradition and the atmosphere there,” When I went there, it really reminded me of a home away from home. I bonded and got along with everybody and all the coaches there. They just keep it real.”
-Over the past few months, has focused on building a relationship with offensive line coach Art Kehoe.
-Says “Coach Kehoe just wants me to keep my mind on the right track,” “He tells me he is going to keep watching me and keep an eye on me. I am going to stay in contact with him and keep building that relationship.”
-Brown (6-3, 340) has recently recorded a bench press max of 325 pounds and a squat max of 475 pounds.
-This summer Brown plans to take unofficial visits to schools like Alabama and West Virginia.
-Miramar has established a pipeline with the Mountaineers and Brown is excited to see the WVU campus.
-Says “I like what I hear about it,” “I have teammates that have gone there and they tell me how beautiful the campus is there. I just get the feeling that is a school that I like too.”
-Brown’s former Miramar coach, Damon Cogdell, is now an assistant at West Virginia. Brown discussed the relationship he has with Cogdell.
-Says “Nothing has really changed,” “He is family first of all, so I can talk to him whenever I want. Our relationship doesn’t feel any different.”
