We a defentily f**ked without him now...
I f**king hate these weak ahh coaches. Grandpa has to go. I actually hate him more then golden
Here's the thing.. Can Richt's offense work? Yes, if he has a great offensive line, NFL quarterback and talent advantage. Does he have all three at the moment? The obvious answer is no, which is why the offense is putrid. The real question is should we be running an offense that requires all of the above to be effective when it is readily apparent there are other types of offense that don't require all of that to be effective and that most of the successful coaches have migrated to and by the way fits the personnel we currently have on the team and have access to in recruiting.
I don't think it's unfair for fans to expect a coach to change with the times and adapt to his current personnel to maximize the results (instead of being "old school" and trying to fit a circle in a square peg). Richt is getting paid $4 million a year, has gotten pretty much everything he's asked for, has his son and wife on the payroll, so it's fair game for the fans to expect results commensurate with what he has been given
As of right now Richt (if this were the late 80s/early 90s) is that old school coach who has run the wishbone for 30 years and is stuck in his ways since it worked for the past 30 years even though the game is progressing to a more "pro style" offense. Doesn't matter teams are running one back etc it's all about if ALL eleven guys do their job and whip the man in front of them then the wishbone will work. Well tell me how that worked out for those teams when they faced 80s canes.
Bottom line you either evolve or get left behind and unfortunately no matter how much of a nice guy/caring man Richt is, he is getting left behind on the offensive side. Case in point when a guy like Saban who a couple of years ago railed against the spread hurry up offense citing player safety is now using it (quite effectively) then you know the game has completely changed. The question is will Richt adapt or will he be a dinosaur that eventually becomes extinct (by his own doing). Unfortunately, Richt is making this harder (on himself, the quarterbacks, his son, and the fan base) than it needs to be.
Let them try, but as far as scheme goes, we dont need all that exotic scheme and spread crap, coach richt is old school, whoop your man in front of you. This offensive system is based off of a power running game, that's why its foolish to see b.o.t.'s crying like they are in year 3, what they think, coach richt to over this program from butch davis, this thing is being built, we need a power o-line here, that's the mindset we have to have, and coach searels may not be the best o-line coach or better than or equal to coachkehoe, but he's not half as bad as its being made out to be, with basically no passing game, even during the losing streak, we did a good job a rushing the ball. People judging coach searels on hypotheticals and with limited talent,i was actually impressed that he was able to get Jahir jones(the robert OH knowles of the o-line) and hayden mahoney to actually be somewhat serviceable o-linemen.
If anybody deserves another year its him, to have to coach an o-line for over 2 years without any real offensive tackles on the team, but we still went 10 & 0 last year, and are rushing the ball pretty good this year, ilike what im seeing, do yourself a favor, not saying you are, but dont listen to the hype jobs, go and look at the V-tech game and watch the work donaldson and scaife was putting in, just watch those 2, coach searels got these boys fighting, and cam davis is being appreciated by coach searels as well.
Cam Davis doesn’t strike me as an entitled kid and yet he couldn’t get carries while Homer looks slow this year and DJ gained 20 lb’s too many and lost all his explosiveness and agility. There’s no reason him and Lingard(before his injury) shouldn’t have gotten carries. CLEARLY he’s got talent and the other guys have been pedestrian at best. Save your BS coaches talk. The reality is there are some talented kids on this roster who are not playing behind less talented upper classman.Or maybe some of the young entitled kids don't get what it's all about and that you have to EARN your sh-t, regardless of "talent" that is determined at high school.
WOW! That’s all I can say. You don’t know football. Clearly you didn’t watch Monday Night Football.Let them try, but as far as scheme goes, we dont need all that exotic scheme and spread crap, coach richt is old school, whoop your man in front of you. And Cam would be an example of a kid who instead of crying about it kept his nose to the ground and grinded his *** off and now he is getting his deserved burn. That was my point.Cam Davis doesn’t strike me as an entitled kid and yet he couldn’t get carries while Homer looks slow this year and DJ gained 20 lb’s too many and lost all his explosiveness and agility. You’ve never played sports stop talking like you know what you’re talking about. Who’s to say Kid A isn’t working his *** off and just not getting his opportunity it’s.And Cam would be an example of a kid who instead of crying about it kept his nose to the ground and grinded his *** off and now he is getting his deserved burn. @For_The_U So not going to answer the question? You’ve never played sports stop talking like you know what you’re talking about. Who’s to say Kid A isn’t working his *** off and just not getting his opportunity it’s.
So ******* stupid when people say Player B works his *** off so he’s going to play. Yet in the game he drops every ball being thrown his way. Answer the question how are we suppose to win when the best players aren’t playing?
Did Brown earn his spot? These coaches are clowns.
Listen, everybody cant be the starter coming in plain and simple. Who cares how many things had to happen for cam to get an opportunity, the main thing is and more importantly he was ready when his number was called.
Would mcgahee have had the junior year he had if frank gore didnt get hurt, **** no, he would've had to wait til the next year. And prior to that year he was lining up at fullback alot.
The offensive guys have been soft mentally, coach brown knows exactly what he's talking about. Next year's o-line already understand what the standard is going to be, power running, so get with gus and get ready, we on our way.
And im sure they telling the commits and recruits now, we only looking for the mentally tuff, and those are the same type of guys that came to UM during the butch years, wasnt no winning going on, but they said in their minds we gone be winners, by the time they became juniors and seniors, they were winning and winning big, the building continues, either transfer or work, football is the ultimate team sport, one man doesnt make the whole team, jeff leaving opens up more playing time, we appreciate the plays he made but he made a mistake and quit on his brother's.
I'd rather have more travis homer's, deejay dallas, brevin jordan, the whole defense mindset, cause that's how you become champions.
I agree with what you are saying but some people around expect immediate improvement and have the patience to let that scheme to work itself out.we all knew the oline was terrible especially in 2016 when it basically got manhandled by a lot of teams.and it showed up again in the losing streak last year and also this year.but as you are developing your oline to run the power you can use a spread offense up till the time the line has developed into a power unit.bama has went from a power scheme to a power/spread scheme and have been unstoppable.Let them try, but as far as scheme goes, we dont need all that exotic scheme and spread crap, coach richt is old school, whoop your man in front of you. Considering Searles has never had a good OL unit, it's fair to say he's bad. We're going into year 4 still using the talent and development excuse. Meanwhile, other schools are able to fix their OL with one hire. Also, if you haven't paid attention, even Saban has adapted his offense to the times to include new wrinkles and spread teams out more. Clemson does the same thing. The old ways of simply running I-formation between the tackles are long gone. Don't believe me because I'm just an educated fan, go listen to Dan Orlovsky when he called the GT Miami game, along with his podcast with the Orange Bowl Boys.
