Brown on earning your spot, Cam Davis emergence

Brown saying the negative outside talk is towards players???

Nah bruh its y’alls **** offensive scheme that is holding back out offensive talent. That’s coaching blunders to lose to 4 lesser talented teams in a row

Georgia, Iowa, LSU, Michigan, etc run out of that old I-formation just fine.

You, like 75% of this board, don't realize CFB is played outside of Miami and Bama

That's the problem. the I-Formation worked at UGA too. Richt doesn't realize the base of his recruiting territory isn't naturally strong country fed lineman anymore. He has to adjust to what he's working with here or be a **** good talent evaluator for OL. Also, if he does want to run it down their throats we need to stop running the same **** Dive play 30 times or trying to rotate OL with our best one on the bench.

Wow what a coincidence our best OL is a guy who transferred here. Anyone else noticing a pattern. Stacy needs to get his girl-name-havin-*** out of my face

Yup. Our 2nd best lineman is a Freshman too lmao. Although Gauthier has been fairly dependable he has been highly inconsistent with line calls which is on the OL coach too because your Center isn't knowledgeable enough.

Those teams run a good portion of their offense because they have the OL to do it. Miami doesn't have the offensive line to consistently dominate up front, as is the case with a good portion of teams in the country. Yet we're the same ones that keep trying to force the ball up the middle.

I know you try to be super fan and be all positive, but you can’t honestly believe what you wrote about the OL and Coach Searels. If you do, you are either not watching the games or your delusion is bordering on being Baker acted. Searels has been coaching Jones, Mahoney, St Louis, Brown, and Gauthier for 3 years, this is the majority of their college career. He’s been coaching Donaldson for 2 years and ALL of them with maybe the exception of St. Louis have regressed. As unimpressive as Boulware is, he’s night and day better than Jones and Mahoney and should have been playing ahead of them once he got the playbook down. You are basing their “improved” performance off their game against VT whose defense has not only been decimated by injuries but gave up 492 rushing yards to Pitt and 465 rushing yards to GT.

You say we have rushed the ball good during the losing streak but you clearly are not watching the games. Most of our rushing yards during the streak came on 2nd and 3rd and long when we were down with time running out and the defense was more than willing to give up meaningless running yards. When it’s been 2nd or 3rd and short, we have not only failed to convert but have lost 2 to 3 yards on the play. In addition, included in those rushing totals are rushing yards from the QB running for his life when the play has broken down.
Here are your RB rushing stats during the streak:
GT-96 yards
BC-70 yards
UVA-130 yards
Duke-261 yards, which admittedly was a good running game in a torrential down pour but keep in mind this is a team that has given up 315 yards rushing yards to UNC and 484 rushing yards to Pitt.

I agree the OL has limited talent but that’s on Searels for not bringing in and developing enough OL talent. I agree that you need a good line to run a power running game. It has been well known since spring ball that the line was a huge weak spot and the coaching staff was well aware of it. It is their job to not be stubborn, to game plan and scheme to put their line in a position to succeed or at least minimize their weaknesses. In addition, as poor as our line is, we are losing 4 OL and Searels is about to miss on all his targets. Neal ain’t coming. Kingsley and Tarquin are about to decommit. I know you will justify it as “they weren’t real Canes anyway” line you use everytime. Searels will scramble at the end and sign 2 or 3 projects, but his failure on the trail will continue to haunt us.

There are many changes Richt has to make to improve this team and I have little faith he will do most of them. However I am certain the one change he will make is Fire Searels. Even the most loyal Richt fans know and want this to happen. As a matter of fact, I am willing to bet a 2 year ban from CIS with you that Searels will NOT be the Miami OL coach come spring ball. I know I’m wasting my breath because none of this will convince you but at least put your money were your delusional mouth is and bet the 2 year ban. Do us ALL a favor, take the bet.

Come on man, to try and put the blame on coach searels for the play of Jahir jones, mahoney and brown is equivalent to blaming coach richt for rosier being on the team, they coached who they were left with. Once someone makes the statement of "that's on coach searels for not bringing in enuff o-line talent and developing them" they just lost credibility. First, coach searels has done a good job with gauthier, he started him over weak linder, scaife a True freshman is coming along and navaughn didnt regress he just changed positions and now he's back at his natural spot. With o-linemen you normally have to start recruiting them early on. The 2016 class was a salvage class, we were only able to get about 1 or 2 o-linemen who are not on the roster, the 2017 class we got about 5 guys, headlined by donaldson and herbert, than gaynor, the throw ins were hillery and dykstra, that was decent as far as numbers go, than last year, campbell, scaife and reed.

Anybody that knows anything about football, it normally takes about 2 to 3 years for most o-linemen to develop, which is why next year is the year you'll truly see if coach searels has real value cause almost all of them will be his guys. Im not so sure coach richt will fire coach searel, unless he's looking at things from a recruiting standpoint, but let's be honest, its not like o-line recruits were beating down the door to get here prior to coach richt getting here, and with the way things have looked this year, their cautious now. But last season gave us the momentum to get guys commitments like guak & tarquin with neal giving us a strong look.

I think the biggest problem we have with recruiting o-linemen is we are going for the high end targets that only want to come to a program that's humming. Funny thing is, alot of those recruits who are loojing at an Auburn, their record and offense hasnt been that much better than ours. Nor are their o-lines, in fact statistically we got auburn beat and are ranked higher than them and alot of teams, and our staff hasnt even been here a full 3yrs yet. Next year, all coach richt has got to do is keep this thing together, im sure he's learned alot in the short time he's been here, including this coaching staff. But we definitely need to pull in at least 3 to 4 quality o-linemen this year. I'll say this boulware is decent, but he's to inconsistent, hayden has actually been out playing him and sometimes even Jahir has been as well.

I'm almost certain coach richt is not going to let some b.o.t.'s cry babies tell him who to hire this offseason, this is the staff he put together and it means more to coach richt to stick together at this point than to listen to people who know nothing about coaching. The 2 b.o.t.'s crybabies are probably the same ones who signed off on bringing the penn disgrace morons here and low balled shannon, and may have even been around helping to low ball butch, so who cares what they crying about, coach richt knows whether its a talent issue or a coaching issue. And like i said earlier, blaming coach searels for the o-line is like blaming coach richt for rosier being here, they both got stuck with the guys that were on the roster, and they both have upgraded their guys, next year you will see.

Cam kept grinding, despite being behind other guys. He didn't go around throwing hissy fits, he kept working. A lot of great players had to wait for an opportunity. Once they received that opportunity, they took it and made the most of it. Cam has done that. Just like Willis McGahee, just like Tiger Clark, just like others have done throughout the history of this program.

You do know Willis McGahee wanted to transfer until his family talked him out of it.

I don’t blame Searels for inheriting the OL he did, I blame him for not developing any of them. He’s had them for 3 years and none of them have improved. It’s funny, you say don’t blame him for Jones and Mahoney yet you were praising him for making them serviceable, when everyone knows they are not. Boulware is inconsistent but he’s significantly better than both of those guys. The only thing both of those guys are consistent at is being there to help the QB up after their man beats them. Gaynor is better than both of those guys but we are redshirting him because of the **** job we’ve done with recruiting. Gauthier has regressed. Donaldson has been back at his position since the FSPOO game and has regressed. Everyone knew he wasn’t a tackle but once again the coaches insist on sticking a square peg into a round hole. Again you are basing your opinion of the OL improving off of their performance against a terrible VT defense. It’s smoke and mirrors dude.

Our problem with recruiting OL is not that we target high value prospects, it’s that we have no backup plans for when those targets fall through. It’s been known for over a month Neal wasn’t coming and that it was highly likely both Tarquin and Kingsley are going to decommit, yet we’ve only target two other guys who are currently committed elsewhere, one to MSU. Go look at the line they are putting together and they ain’t exactly “humming”.

In any event, I know I’m not going to convince you because you are locked into your delusion, so take the bet. Show how much “credibility” you have. Richt has gotten rid of Searels once before, he will do it again this offseason. Bet???

Saying players are serviceable dont mean they are good, many players are just not good enuff to play at this level. Its not just the V-tech game, the point is you've seen searels coaching with better talent, to act like he wanted to put navaughn at tackle is comical, but until scaife got ready and showed his ability, now we,re starting to be able to put guys in their proper positions. Next year if the guys stay healthy will be the first time coach searels has had 2 tackles that have been practicing at the position and playing the position the position they played in highschool, particularly campbell and herbert, scaife has always been a guard or tackle, he'd probably be better at guard for real. We got better overall talent playing next year. The only way coach richt is getting rid of coach searels will be based on recruiting. Remember coach searels was hired late in 2016 so no o-linemen wanted to come here, cause we had no position coach for o-line. It picked up in 2017, and did ok last year, and if we keep the 2 we have plus add one more that'll be a decent run, but next year we need numbers.

God you’re intolerable. The only thing that would have made Richt scream FVCK louder than watching his QB play this season is if he had to read your post. It’s clear you are not willing to wager your vast football knowledge and credibility on this, so I would normally put you on the ignore list. However, I will wait until after Richt fires Searels this offseason so that I can laugh my *** off at the mindless drivel you will post claiming it was a genius move and you always supported it.

The one thing you'll learn about me, im not wishy washy, if he keeps searels, that's being fair, 4yrs is long enuff, cause its a known fact in football, most o-line recruits take at minimum 2 to 3yrs to develop on a whole, since basically we have no o-linemen from the 2016 classon this roster, and searels has only as of right now 2 recruiting classes of o-linemen, than this 4th yr for searels is justifiable to go along with staff continuity. If coach searels is fired, you can hang up getting o-linemen after this season. So we'll see, i personally dont think getting rid of coach searels at this stage is justifiable and i dont think coach richt thinkks that either.

The I-Formation worked at UbaGA? 1 top 20 offense in 15 years. That’s not even remotely good.

It gets the first down

Our advanced offensive efficiency(think: ability to convert third-and-shorts) is 56th. A couple spot behind Hawaii, and a dozen or so behind Georgia Southern. https://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/ncaa

Gray averages 2.6 ypc, 9th best on the team https://www.foxsports.com/college-f...n=2018&week=0&category=RUSHING&group=2&team=0

Our offense averages 13.5 yards per point - 43rd overall. https://www.teamrankings.com/college-football/stat/yards-per-point

Also, our FB dives look like ****. So objectively and subjectively, we define “success” differently.

Um...If you only run the FB dive on 3rd and short, then obviously you're playing to get the first down. If you succeed in getting the first down, whether it's 5 inches or a long 1 yards, then the play call succeeded in doing what you wanted it to do. That is my definition of my success (Which I said when you asked me). Bringing up Gray's YPC, our offensive efficiency on money downs, or our points per game, means nothing. If you want to deny my point that the Fullback dive DOESN'T do what it's supposed to do (which is get the first down) then shove some stats in my face where running the FB fails to get us the first down less than 90% of the time which is the percentage I claimed. We aren't Georgia tech running a FB dive as a base for the rest of our offense to set up other plays (although it seems like that with Richt and his insane obsession with HB dives), so we don't need 4-5 yards every time we run it.
