Brini

Would rather go with this Miami ASA kid Jalene Douse who graduates this month-December 2016. is considerable faster and more athletic. Was near the national elite standard in HS at 100m and the high jump. In addition, if he does not work out in the rotation you only have him for 2 years. Also he is a pretty hard hitter and a 6-2/185 has the frame to add weight to 200 or more.

Here is a post on him by 1953 from some time back--

What's the deal with this kid? He's listed as a 4* on 247 and has offers, but now he's not a take for any P5 program? Not saying that's wrong, just wondering what it is that coaches aren't liking about the kid.

Not a take

I get that, but why? What is keeping programs from wanting a 4* kid?

Not rocket science...The rating is phony.

Not a bad player though.

I didn't say it was ******* rocket science, but I don't recall seeing a lot of 4* guys getting no love from P5 programs. Add to that the fact that P5 programs were interested but now aren't. So in what way is the rating 'phony'? What is it that the ratings guys and all the programs that offered him got wrong? Or has had some other troubles I haven't heard about?

He's ok, plays pretty stiff, needs to learn how to use his height better. Kiffin and Butch should be all over him, he shouldn't go to Temple or some place like that. Would love to see him go to FAU.

He had a lot of hype preseason which is always dangerous. Always fascinated me how much guys fluctuate without actually taking a snap on the field.

Yeah reminds me of the hype Emmanuel Greene was getting here. Some of the comments are hysterical:

Has talent, but I understand curriculum he took and course GPA are a problem for quite a few.

BTW Brini's older brother Dontavious has come back to South Florida from a school is Virginia and is at ASA now as a DB.

"Dontavious signed with Division II Concord University in West Virginia out of high school but is now playing football at ASA College, a junior college program in Miami, with hopes of landing with another NCAA program."

"Pond (his HS defensive Coordinator) does believe Brini still has some work to do. He elaborated on what they plan to work on to get him polished and prepared for the next level.

"A bit of polish and maturity is needed for Brini to reach his potential."

"He is a little raw right now," Pond said. "He needs to clean some things up technique wise. He also needs to get mentally stronger. He has to learn how to bring the same level of intensity week-to-week and play-to play."

Rather have Brini than any cb we have after young and redwine on the current roster

He got his hype because UM jumped the gun by offering him. Then Coley tried to be a hero at UGA by stealing a UM commit without properly vetting him. All of a sudden it looks like a battle between two marquee P5 programs so the services got excited about him too.

That mentally stronger and intensity is maybe what has backed people off.
