Bring on the losses

A few years ago on a family trip to the US Virgin Islands I ran into Blake James with his family on the ferry to St. Johns. I briefly considered my best strategic options for the sake of the program, but I did not act out of concern for my wife, sisters, and nephews. I chose wrong.
God forgives you, my friend. Nobody is perfect. Next time, throw that mother ****** over.

This must happen for the long term health of the program

Because all the losses over the last 20 years have really changed the trajectory. FOH.

If anybody should understand the grass isn't always greener cliche, it should be the morons around here. Jesus Christ. Yeah, let's lose, suffer more embarrassment, lose more recruits, lose talented kids to the portal, just to hire Randy Shannon or Al Golden or Manny Diaz or Larry Coker or......

For ***** sake, how hard is this to understand? The ideal situation is for Manny to win and continue to win and continue to recruit and continue to upgrade the staff and the NIL bill to continue to help and we continue to get good kids from the portal. Period. Is this likely? Probably not. But this should be the ONLY hope/goal, because nobody has any clue what's going to happen if he's fired. Yes, if someone had a crystal ball and there was a guarantee that, if Manny is fired, Mario is 100% going to be the next coach, you're **** right I'd be rooting for losses. But there is NO GUARANTEE of that. As a matter of fact, what in the name of everything holy is giving you 0.00001% confidence that anything positive would come from him being fired? This athletic department has made poor decision after poor decision. Now you're confident that will change? So you WANT the program you support to lose and suffer more embarrassment and be the butt of more jokes in the hopes they'll make the first smart decision they've made after 20 years of ineptitude. EL OH ******* EL.

A true Cane hijacks the ferry, takes it out into international waters and takes care of business

There’s certain times where losing ultimately ends up benefiting the program. I’m not sure how people don’t understand that (just look at the blasting we got on College Gameday). I’m not “rooting” for losses, as in literally cheering for the other team. I’ve just come to the conclusion that even if Manny wins out and brings in a good class, it still wouldn’t matter (he doesn’t develop talent). So basically, we’re fckd with Manny. UVA just put us out of our misery once and for all 🙏🏼

I’m not openly rooting against Miami but I guarantee continuing to lose will have us at least a new coach and most likely a new AD.

We have been a poor tackling & no discipline team under the coaching staff for 3 years. Manny’s not the guy and backing into a coastal division title will kill all the negative momentum we have going towards making a change in the entire AD department.

Best case scenario in my mind is get blown out the next two weeks and then fire Manny. Then go one a run to show the potential. Recruits and current players hang around to see who the new staff is.

I’m in a win win situation. I want us to win but if we lose I won’t get mad. If we win I’ll be happy and go about my day. If we lose I’ll laugh at Manny Diaz and just reminisce on what was said at College game day.

If Manny wins out then there will be good play from players who havent it so far. I want to see our kids develop and kick some ***. Anyone not rooting for that is tripping.

You're right, but who is the new coach and who is the new AD?

Again, this program has shown complete ineptitude for the past TWENTY (20) years. What gives you confidence that this supposed new coach and/or AD are going to do anything to change what we've seen for most of our lives now?

I understand the other side of the coin crystal clearly. What confidence has Manny shown? None. But my point is, what you should be *rooting* for is somehow, someway, a light to come on and this guy start to progress as a coach, get some better players in here, continue to upgrade the staff (add Shoop as the DC?), let Lashlee develop 2 QBs who certainly show promise, etc. etc. AGAIN...will that happen? I don't see how you can have confidence that it will. But we have some good football players on this team. The 2021 class looks like it might have some difference makers. We should all be rooting for this guy to finish the season 8-0 and maybe we can convince some other good players to join the fold. Not hoping we lose so we can fire our coach and hire God knows who? Again, if you told me that if Miami loses tonight that Manny would be fired and Mario Cristobal would be hired at the end of the season, I'd root for us to lose 63-0. But there is a very small chance that happens. If you told me that if Miami loses tonight that Manny would be fired and Blake James would head up a coaching search with a limited budget.....yeah. I can't root for that to happen. Let's just hope a light comes on for these kids and staff and they start playing to their talent level and start beating these Corstal teams up.
