I don't know enough about the guy to say if it is a good or bad hire. Will say seems underwhelming with all guys that are available with head coaching experience.
Another “insider” full of ****.Lol, huh? What happened to all the Bill O'Brien smoke from last night?

Seems like a bad hire so good for them.
GTFO with this nonsense. I swear, this fanbase loves to ride the D of every other school not named Miami. VT just made an underwhelming hire. Is it possible that Pry succeeds? Yes, but first time HCs in major jobs tend to fail more often than not.Have heard a lot of people say James Franklin feared the day Brent Pry got his own HC job because he's essentially carried him throughout his career.
Now we'll get to find out and so will Pedo State who will be on the hook for Franklin for another 10 years and a ton of money.
Clearly VT is okay with getting somewhere between 7-9 wins per year including the bowl game. Schools that don't care about football always go the lightning in a bottle approach with HC hires. Go cheap route and hope they stumble across a stud coach...then in 3yrs or so stud coach gets better offer and leaves....then said school rinses and repeats the process over again.Very meh hire.
I'm not even talking about what VT did - it's absolutely underwhelming. I've been a huge advocate for how risky it is to hire a coordinator or a G5 HC to a P5 job - as much or more than anyone on here. Almost all successful coaches are an elite coordinator at Alabama or they're hired from another P5 HC job.GTFO with this nonsense. Yeah. He could work out, but he’s got a way less impressive resume than Fuente when he took over for Beamer.Longer term, as a Canes fan, I'd be more worried about someone like this than BoB.
So....we hiring the VT AD??
