2027 Brennen Lacey 3* RB from Frisco, TX (Frisco HS)

Two new names to monitor: David Segarra (Greenville, SC) and Brennan Lacey (Dallas, TX). Lacey lives with the family of Las Vegas Raiders running back Ashton Jeanty. ​

Recruiting is about to kick into high gear with a flurry of spring visits on deck. Here is the latest:

- There are three names to monitor at quarterback: Will Mencl (Chandler, AZ), Davin Davidson (Sarasota, FL) and Israel Abrams (Chicago, IL). Davidson has been on campus and Mencl and Abrams have visits on deck. It's still too early to call this one, as the visits are key and the QB position is always subject to dominoes falling at other schools. But these are the names in play right now.

- RB Myson Johnson-Cook (East St. Louis, IL) remains a monster priority and...

Lacey actually made the transition from wide receiver to running back, which is why he’s a late bloomer. Upshaw has experience coaching both, which is definitely appealing to Lacey. The talented Texan will make his first visit to Miami on April 18. He is looking to set up an official visit with UM after that trip.​




 
While he’s not currently ranked, the Frisco (Texas) High product has seen his stock boom on the recruiting trail. And he was emotional when the Hurricanes jumped in the mix.


“I cried,” Lacey said. “I have some family out in Miami. They told me about the team and location. I know it’s sunny out there. I was really excited when I got the offer. Miami is coming off a national championship appearance. I like that the players are aggressive and that the program is in intentional in what they do. Miami is definitely up there now.”

Lacey will also be keeping a close eye on Miami’s running backs.

Lacey was one of the first running backs to notch an offer from new Miami running backs coach Favian Upshaw. The two are quickly building a strong relationship.
