Brenden Sorsby- The Gambling Addiction

I could see the argument being made that he's an "addict" (which i'm not certain he really meets criteria for) in order to get disability and anti-discriminatory status, but that also works against him with regard to future behavior.

I could see a pathway to eligibility with an agreement to strict monitoring and ongoing "treatment" for his addiction/disability. At the same time, I could see the argument that his disability threatens integrity or causes an "undue hardship" for the NCAA.

All Gambling addiction rehab programs are bs.. that’s not the kind of habit that can be resolved by being forced to watch cheap “learning” videos while talking to a bs artist who doesn’t give af.

It's questionable whether he's really an addict, but i'm sure they'll find someone to diagnose him.

So someone who was angry, or someone who thinks Sorsby need help but could not convince him to get help.

100% this.

The second usually comes with a component of risk or fear for safety. I haven't seen an account to suggest anyone was harmed by his low-stakes gambling.

A gambling addiction is not a disability.

Are there more players involved with this? Usually where there is a gambling scandal, there is more than one athlete in the picture.
It kind of like when catch a rodent inside your house, there are more than one running around.
Nobody can convince me that Tyler Van Dyke wasn’t throwing games when he was here. Some of his interceptions were just so bad it couldn’t be by accident. Then he could be so good at times.

Why would the mob / bookie / loan shark rat him out to the NCAA though? Doesn't that decrease their chances of ever getting paid?

Correct

When TrumpyCane was young and stupid, Trumpycane ended up owing like 11k to a bookie

Trumpycane had another friend who was a “runner” for a bookie and told me to just tell him you can’t pay him and you’ll do a payment plan, tell him you can only give him $200 a week

After about 3 weeks the bookie asked Trumpycane how much could you pay to settle it all and told him can scrounge up 3k

We went from 11k to 3k settlement

Trumpycane had a friend who went to GA because his wife threatened divorced if he didn’t

Some of the stories he heard were incredible in a really sad, sobering way. One guy faked his kids kidnapping so he could get $$ to gamble.

Glad they accepted your settlement.

"The ADA includes a specific list of "sin exceptions," such as compulsive gambling, kleptomania, and pyromania, which are not covered even if they cause significant life impairment."

You are correct. Appreciate the clarity.
Drug and alcoholic addiction used to be considered a disability, but despite it being considered a disease by many in the medical profession, congress passed a law changing that in 1996.

It absolutely is a disability…

It disables you from playing college football…
