It was a bad pass from a QB who has the talent to make the play. He locked-on and had poor ball-placement. Reminds me a lot of Beck's final pass.

Except if you break down Beck’s final play, the DB that intercepted the pass was quite a good distance away when Beck let the ball go, unlike Sorsby.

The rules exist because sports gambling for college football runs about $10-$12 billion a year. The only way that business remains is if the people legally betting on the games have trust that there’s not shenanigans going on. That’s why when there is evidence of wrongdoing the penalties are normally very severe.

Sad but true. Some close to me lost a family member who took his life after battles with alcohol and gambling. The money he lost on phone apps was beyond comprehension.

Shhhhhit, I have family thats an asst principle, last couple years is just stories of kids stealing parents money so they can gamble.. They think its investing in middle and high school.. This is something that is soo pervasive in society now but everyone tries to turn blind eye like **** issue because of money involved

Actually, now that I think about it I think it was Henry Hill (Goodfellas main character) who was invovled. Either way, it's a lot safer for guys to shave points via smartphone app..

And for a long time I owned stock in gambling companies because well, they win a lot more than they lose. But the reality is that gambling is a source of addiction just like drugs, alcohol, eating, shopping, anything which hits the receptors in our brain which results in the release of dopamine.

So it is particularly cringy when espn openly discusses gambling lines because of who pays their bills with little to no regard for the people who have this addiction. And maybe it isn’t their job or anyone’s responsibility to care. But young people are even more at risk to addiction and this young man needs real help. Which I am contrasting with the “you just got caught doing something so now you need to go to rehab” help like Tiger Woods. Too often this version of rehab is just to check a box and go right back to making money for yourself or whomever is making money off of you.

The issue is people in leagues have insider information

Trumpycane knows someone who plays professional tennis and he’s told me plenty of times when certain players have nagging injuries, don’t care about a tournament, etc

I'll bet even bigger money that dozens of Texas Tech boosters will donate to Trump in the hope that he issues an executive order that permits sports gambling by athletes, including the games in which they play. Retroactively...

My understanding is that tennis has a great deal of corruption around the issue of gambling. Is that accurate from what you know?
 
This is the experience betting apps are pushing for. Phone in hand all game making microbets. They want sports watching experience 100% linked to gambling from start to finish. We saw short form videos grab the country by the balls in a few short years, similarly I think a lot of people are going to have serious problems with these apps.
