NIL agreements I've seen have language that requires NCAA compliance. Texas Tech probably has RECOURSE to get the money back, but whether they will try to do so is anyone's guess. Cincy is trying. Texas Tech should make the effort too, or at least that's my personal viewpoint.
 
Worst part about addiction is that the brain doesn't differentiate. All it does is get "high" and wants to repeat that feeling.

Breaking addictions is like establishing habits. It takes time, reps and it's ******* hard.

So, regardless of what anyone's going through, keep going, keep driving, and keep getting better.

100% and as it should be. Even if he didn't play, we're talking about a guy who has inside information. And I don't care if it was just nickels and dimes, that ruins the integrity of the game. Go ahead and bet on other sports and games. Who cares? But not in the ones you play in or your own team is involved in.
 
Be careful about simplifying addiction to dopamine. The neurochemical/electrical system is magnitudes more complicated. Dopamine became the easy, (internet) one word answer. It get even more complicated when you add psychological/psychosocial factors.

He could have, but he doesn't strike me as the smartest dude out there after thousands of bets over years. No way he'd get away with it if he did make big bets on his own team.

And LOL at TTU getting caught with their pants down. Didn't they do any type of research/scouting into the kid before they offered NIL? You'd think something would turn up considering he made thousands of bets...
