any insight into what the University is thinking in terms of the NIL collective? Is it still going to be separate? Bringing it in house to manage it all internally? I’m sure donors will hear more information about what our options are going forward as everything gets figured out.
I have not heard that we are "winding down" our Collective. Not yet, anyhow.
As I've said, in a big urban area like Miami, there are a lot of marketing opportunities. If you remember, at the verrrrry beginning of NIL, certain posters were projecting that these kids would make a lot of money being on billboards in college towns and shilling for local used car salesmen. Never happened.
You might see the UM Collective continue to exist as a sort of clearinghouse for smaller NIL efforts that are "not" national brand names like Dr. Pepper. There are simply more LEGITIMATE "real NIL" opportunities in big cities, particularly major international hubs like Miami and Los Angeles.
