BREAKING - Norvell heavy favorite for FSU, Announcement could come on Sunday

I have a feeling Norvell is a distraction. They may announce Bob Stoops tomorrow night.

Norvell is a good coach. Really good offense that has been productive for years.

But I ain't worried about him at a big time spot. I thought he would have made the easier move to Ole Miss since Memphis has a pretty deep connection with Mississippi recruits. I thought that would have been a more natural move.

To win at Florida State...you need to recruit.

No one has any idea if Norvell can recruit or if he can assemble a staff that can recruit.

I guess we'll see...but, to me, it looks like the Gator gonna be owning the state for a while. Miami and FSU just wandering aimlessly.

Mike Norvell wouldn't be a bad hire—but again, ain't the "home run hire" their fan base was looking for, or saying they were going to get.

James Franklin would've been one of few bigger time guys, had they been able to reel him in, but Norvell is just another up-and-comer type.

Further proof that a lot of guys are happy where they're at, and even a big check isn't going make them budge. Not a lot of great options out there—hence Florida State setting on Willie Taggart two years ago and now looking like they'll settle on Norvell.

Their last two recruiting classes are extremely lacking on the offensive side of the ball. Sims (who’s **** good) will be the first QB recruit they’ve signed since Blackman. Their classes in ‘18 and ‘19 are top heavy in the secondary and on defense. Norvell is an offensive coach. They are severely lacking the last couple classes everywhere on offense, even with transfers it ain’t an overnight fix.

He has his work cut out for him, he needs an influx of talent and quick, because if he doesn’t hit the 9/10 win mark at latest his second season the FSU faithful will get restless again. They ran Jimbo out of town after he won them a **** Natty.

I think sometimes we conflate our perceived standards as almost a 2 decade long-suffering fanbase with FSU's too. Like you mentioned about Cuckbo and also realizing that these clowns are only like 6 years removed from a national championship, their expectations/demands of Norv Michael here are gonna be high, irrational and with a short timetable.

Some might think the disaster that was Tagfart may have tempered their delusion but I bet it only exacerbated it. They'll think anyone should be able to instantly hit that 9/10 win mark you mentioned simply because they aren't Tagfart.

This is not a home run hire but Norvell was one of the best candidates in the market. He has proven capable of fielding a good offense.

This likely saved FSU some money which means they can go out and spend big money on top DC.

The question mark is can he change the culture, recruit in FL, and nail the DC hire. If he can do those three things and we stick with Manny and co then we f*cked. We’re f*cked regardless but at least we could console ourselves with an FSU win.

Fuente 2.0. Better than Diaz but worse than Richt.

Kendall Briles to Miami???????
Anyone....
Anyone....

No, because we aren't morally bankrupt jackasses. I'll never get why anyone would want anyone from that garbage family. There are far too many good OCs out there that can be productive, that aren't rape enabling douchebags. Kendall should be in prison, right alongside his father for what they did at Baylor.
