BREAKING: Former Miami HC Butch Davis fired from FIU....

Even FIU is doing the right thing ahead of Miami.
Yes, and FIU is in the running for Kiffin, Franklin or Aranda...lol. If Pete fired Butch, then it was completely out of his hands. Butch probably wanted the buyout whatever it was as opposed to "retiring" as rumored last month.

Except he bleeds orange and green. It is actually the right time to come back to Miami. If Miami makes any type of financial commitment, he knows he can win here and win big. His ego is big enough to know after 5 failed coaches he has some time.

When they asked Bear Bryant why he came back to Alabama, he responded, "Mama is calling."

And before everybody goes, he will blow a big game every year. Clemson lost to Pitt and won a national title and lost to a bad Syracuse team and still made the college playoffs. Not the kiss of the death. And on that note give a coach that does not throw a turkey every year or every other year not named Saban?

He bleeds orange and green so much he would go against his best interest to be at Miami?

Funny, because I remember him ******** Miami over by taking a job here and bolting a few weeks later for a lateral job at Alabama where he recruited against us in South Florida hard.

He literally did the opposite of what you are saying. In real life. Against us. Proof of concept. No.

Cristobal left because he wanted to be a line coach and Alabama afforded him that. And the bag was heavier. Why would you fault him for that?

Where did I fault him? I used the fact that he left us high and dry for a better situation in his own best interest to refute a poster who was contending that he would take the job here against his own self-interest because he "bleeds orange and green."

If he leaves, it is because he wants to be the Head Coach of his alma mater. Your argument is Oregon is the better job. As of today, that is not debatable. He wanted the job in December 2018. Self-interest also includes draws to Miami. A guy like Cristobal knows he can win in Miami. If the first bench mark is the Coastal, that is an easy one to step over. In 2021, the ball is in his court.

I heard on the radio that they had old pads donated from Mississippi State. Like 9-year old pads.

So when they beat us 2 years ago, they beat us with some old *** equipment LOL. #TNM

Mario is going to do what's best for Mario, no one else. That's who he is. And I don't mean that as an insult. He left Miami high and dry once before after a matter of weeks and turned around and recruited against us. So he may have affinity for his alma mater, but to say he "bleeds orange and green" like you did before has been disproven IMO. I don't think he's willing to make any sort of personal sacrifice to come help the U.

That is all evidence-based. Everything else I've seen posted as evidence he would come is conjecture and wish sandwiches. Miami is not a premier job right now, and frankly, has been a coach killer for the last 20 years. Taking off my orange and green glasses, and trying my best to be objective, I think he'd be stupid to take the Miami job for the reasons I've already posted. And I don't think Mario is stupid. If we hire him, you can come back and throw it in my face and I will happily and gleefully admit I was wrong, because I think he'd be a good hire (low risk) and I'd be happy for the U.

FIU leadership > Miami Leadership

Let that sink in.

You aren't playing 3D chess. This is all part of the plan. According to some random poster in another thread (the one saying we are getting a new stadium), Highsmith will have a role in football ops, but it won't be as AD. So then who becomes AD? HMMMM

From what was reported, Cristobal had a sit down with Jimmy Johnson after he (Mario) got the Bama OL coach offer. He wasnt sure leaving UM was the right thing to do and was conflicted, but JJ advised him that if he wanted to become a better coach, he needed to go learn from the best and there was no one better than Saban. He didn't just say "f#ck you" to UM as soon as he got the Bama offer.
